Damn, I totally forgot to get my taco. I would have to drive like thirty miles to find a Taco Bell but it totally would have been worth it.

A base was stolen in the World Series.

The owner of Taco Bell promised everyone in America a free taco if a base was stolen.

Jacoby Ellsbury stole a base. I made a play on his name.

There is no such thing as a terrible FREE taco.

I couldn't get through the crowd at the parade today to get to Taco Bell.

However, given that the only Taco Bell near downtown (that isn't in Cambridge) is @ Boston University, I'm guessing the line was huge.

It isn't dehydrated powder when they receive it? I had a friend tell me they add water and heat. Even if it isn't, Taco Bell beef is disgusting.

It comes to us in plastic bags, and it's fully hydrated. The bags of meat are frozen and we warm them up in the 190-degree thermalizer for half and hour. Then we pour it into pans and serve. We add heat, but not water.

Yeah because the method you described sounds SOOOOO much better than powdered meat. Smiley: sly

It's a fancy hotplate.

OK, technically, it's just for fancy work for any object that makes other things hot.

Oh, it's this big metal thing full of near-boiling water.

There is a powder that goes into Taco Bell meat, but its just the flavoring. Its actually fairly good-grade beef, and it looks like beef when it gets delivered to the store.

The thermalizer is just a big pot sitting in extremely hot water, if I remember correctly. Its been several years since I worked at the Bell.

I don't care if it's powdered. I don't care if the lettuce was made of playdoh. I don't care that the beans give me eye cancer.

It tastes of awesome and I eat there frequently. It's bad when I can go up to the window and say "the usual" Smiley: laugh
