Who makes gold bricks at work?Follow

#1 Oct 29 2007 at 10:12 AM Rating: Good
I wanna know how many people come to these forums while they should be doing actual work at their job (i.e. goldbricking).

I should really be working, but I'm trying to pass the time until 5.

I work from home, for myself, and I still slack off.

Man just isn't meant to work.

Calls are light and the longest most exciting call I've had today was when a printer driver decided it wanted to be a dot matrix printer instead of a laserjet. 4-5 minutes of excitement, then I get to wait for the next call.

Slow day...

I'm growing very bored of my job. It was great when I first started, but now? It bores the hell out of me. I'm just not busy enough. My boss has started to hand more responsibilities on to me as of late, but I know that even with all of that added, I'll still be pissing most of the day away here trying to get myself through the day. I could always tell them there's more I could be doing, but I'm not 100% bored of here yet.

Heh
I should start doing that. No one ever listens to me when I answer the phone anyway.
Me "Helpdesk, this is Brian."
User "Is this the helpdesk?"
Me "... yes"
User "Yeah, Frank, I'm having a problem with my email..."

I get called Frank a lot. I don't get it. Smiley: lol

I mostly post from work, mainly because at home I'm usually busy actually doing something, whether it be playing a game or making my latest gourmet meal attempt.

The best part about posting at work is that I'm usually staring at the screen like I'm concentrating really hard, and I'm typing a lot. The other techs think I'm really busy or something. They'll have a question for me or they'll need me to unlock someone's account (because I'm the only one in the room with a domain admin account except our supervisor) and they're almost apologetic about interrupting me. Smiley: lol
I really do work though. If the phone rings, I'll help the person with their problem. But if I'm not on the phone, I'm on Allakhazoo.

Is that where you tell them the little black box didn't eat their machine and that "Stewart" will be right with them?

My script is awesome. It has built-in checkpointing.

You just took a dump the size of a log and it had corn in it?

No, dummie. She wants to log all dumps that contain corn. Probably a medical experiment of some kind. Who knows.
