The highest resolution ever?Follow

Haltadefinizione have released the single highest resolution digital image ever. The last supper is now available for all to study at that adress. You can inspect it down to the most minute detail, which was previously possible only for someone with the right permissions and equipment where it is currently being displayed.

The site is getting hammered though, so don't expect to be able to get the most detailed view anytime soon. Just open it and let it load, heh.

Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be willing to do all 16 billion pixels at once, it's doing some sort of weird streaming thing, kinda like how Google Earth / Maps works. It'd be fun to be able to really go at it, but as it is it's just a hassle.

Yeah, I personally wish they'd just release the whole image and be done with it. I gave up the nth time my screen turned to pixel soup.
