I know you won't want to miss THIS!

That's right, boys and girls. The Dragonlance Movie, coming soon to DVD!!

Looks wretched, but I'm totally going to have to watch it.

Okay, I just added yet another movie to the "Must buy" list. It may quite possibly turn out to be a **** poor movie, but the geek within demands it.

You and me both, darlin'.

I imagine we'll be buying it and watching it once, never to open it again.

Since it's only Dragons of Autumn Twilight, I imagine we'll be seeing two more...

Wow.

I'm assuming you don't read sci-fi on a regular basis?

If you read sci-fi, and have never noticed the HUGE "Dragonlance" section, then you are extremely unobservant.

I'm not sure if that's a word, but it describes you perfectly.

I bought a bunch of dragonlance books once, because I knew people who liked them...well...I read up to chapter 20 in what I think was the first dragonlance chronicles book...there was like...an old dragon who had a cold or something...and I think he was golden...and I thought to myself ********** it"
I remember something about a magic staff, a barbarian, and a Goddess named Mishakal.

Also, there was this one badass dude that I liked a lot - Sturm or something like that. Not to be too big of a ************* but in FFXI there's this "Sturmwind" or whatever weaponskill - and it always made me think of him.

At least I was pronouncing Takhisis properly in my mind when I was reading the books. [:nerd:]

Holy hell, that looks like crap. Did they spend their animation budget on the dragons and have to take stock footage from the old D&D cartoon for the rest?

I liked how they played up Raistlin. Despite his fanboy following, his spells in Autumn Twilight were web, featherfall, charm person and sleep. Oh, and he cast knock, I think. Way to go, Level 2 magic-user!

[Staff meeting at Toonz Entertainment]

"HAY GUISE! Let's get the animators from Heavy Metal and some of the CGI techs from that D&D movie and make Dragonlance!"

"Yeah, that would be totally l33t!!"

"Who are we gonna get to voice Kitiara? She has to be smokin hawt."

"I know... Xena!"

"OMG, you are a genius."

I weep for all fans of fantasy literature everywhere.

I don't really like Dragonlance. The movie looks lulz though.

Maybe I'm weird that I prefer juvenile fiction, but I think it's pretty much all better than Dragonlance.

Also, I loves the Terry Pratchet. And Neil Gaiman.

For a 10th of a second there my inner geek burst forth and rejoiced, then started crying as reality mentioned the Dungeons and Dragons movie.

That experiance scarred me for life and i refuse to watch another Hasbro D&D related movie ever again on principle.

It's the only film i have ever walked out of.... and i've watched Crow II.

Was really looking forward to it, but that animation looks primitive. I will pick it up, though. The guy pronouncing it dray-gun grated my nerves.

Kiefer Sutherland is Raistlin. Smiley: jawdrop

Oh my...

Well, there's not much that's going to get me to watch the movie, mainly because I enjoy the current visuals in my head that aren't all fubar'd due to some serious technical issues in the art department. Yes, I consider 3rd grade students as animation directors "technical issues".

But, now I have to go back and read all the books again. If for no other than reason than to laugh at the antics of Tasselhoff Burrfoot! Smiley: laugh

What, you prefer yellow?

How about teal?

Maybe red is your gig?

Oooo, I know what color you like! Smiley: wink

For me, though, green is the shiznit. And that's what you'll get. You don't like it? Don't read it! There are choices in life, you know! Smiley: tongue

Oh I read it anyways. I read the forum on 'Never Filter' for a reason. I was trying to offer helpful advise. I browse on FFXI skin (I no longer play thank god) and that post was basically unreadable. That green is one of the colors that doesn't blend well with light blue.
#26 Oct 27 2007 at 1:49 AM Rating: Excellent
Well, thanks... green is my "thing" though; once my sigs and avs are resized for here you'll see... nothing but green! So, apologies if it doesn't work well with your skin.
