How many of you get into the mood around certain holidays and go nuts with theme music? I play the occasional Christmas CD, but that's usually it. However, today I stumbled upon this little gem. Quite the collection, IMO.

I listen to Nat King Cole a lot right around Christmas.

The only Holiday music I listen to is Bare Naked Ladies Christmas CD. I love it.

The radio station I usually listen to at work is a "light rock" station. They mostly play stuff like Chicago, Reo Speedwagon, that stuff. Right after Thanksgiving they change to all Christmas music, all the time, and I can't stand it.

I have a "favorites" Christmas CD in my car year round and listen to it every now and then.

Around Halloween, I like the Nightmare Before Christmas soundtrack.

I do believe I have one or two of theirs on my Christmas CD!

I love the Elf's Lament song.

And their Hannukah song. I'm learning Hebrew!

I worked retail for 3 Christmases. Every October the music would start and it wouldn't stop until we were well into January. Needless to say, I've had my fill.

I have God Rest Ye Merry Gentleman (with Sarah McLachlan) for sure, and it's gorgeous.

Once the snow begins to fall, and the smoke billows up from my chimney, I often look out at the silent night and relax with a glass of egg nog while listening to the most magical theme album of our time: Merry Christmas, by the artist Mariah Carey. Her eardrum-piercing shrieks invoke images of Rudolph being sodomized, and as they say, tis the season.

The one that makes me laugh is the Little Drummer Boy version done by David Bowie and Bing Crosby where David Bowie made them add a solo so he could show off, haha.

I actually really like that version, though. It's just so weird.

Oh I like it too, I have it on my CD! I just can't help but laugh every time because he's just so damn pretentious.

I hate Christmas music with a passion. I have to listen to it for a month straight at work. You'd be surprised at how little of there is. I usually end up hearing different versions of the same song over and over again, all day, every day. I just want to punch people in the face when the mention how much the like the stuff.

My mother really goes nuts with the Christmas music at the start of December, so its just kinda natural for me to do the same.

Generally we listen to classical christmas, not that Rudolph junk.

Other than christmas we dont really do any other holiday music wise. Occasionally around the 4th though my dad gets Sousa happy.

Whenever Halloween rolls around I have tons of fun due to having a good excuse to blare "scary" music. Black Sabbath fuck yeah! Of course, what kind of Halloween mix would it be without Werewolves of London? Or Boris the Spider? Hell, what about Thriller? So much music, only one night to blast it in...

Christmas music is less fun, though. As Belkira mentioned, the BNL Christmas album is great.

I used to have a really cool Christmas compilation somewhere, but I think I deleted it like an idiot after last Christmas without thinking. And now I can't remember the name, it had quite a few of the classics, some soul as well as a few modern indie type songs if I remember correctly. I may have imagined that part though, hmm, it's going to annoy me now :(

The Phil Spector xmas compilation is pretty good, and I have the Christmas EP by Low which is also good
