Ok, you might have gone with a pop reference, moving your pumkin away from any "original meaning" Halloween might have had. It might be a pattern designed by someone else that you found on the interwebs. But if you did that by hand using a knife and one of the most recalcitrant gourds known to man, you can colour me impressed.

We don't do pumpkins or Halloween here in Oz. But looking at the Allakhazam pumkins so far, my respect for Americans just went up a notch.

Holy Crap! Do either of you guys have Japanese or Chinese ancestry? I haven't seen that sort of artistic control over a vegetable before outside of Asia.

Wint! Those look great!

I want to do the Jack Skelengton full face one.

Sooooo how many Rate Ups would it cost to get the Happy Jack Face? Smiley: sly

Actually its only $2 for 2 patterns so maybe I'll just do that.

Thanks so much for the link Wint!

I don't mind sharing, we have Microsoft Document Image Writer at work here so I was able to print these to a 300dpi .TIF file Smiley: grin But if you want to pay him that's fine too, I'll definitely be checking his site next year for more. Best $5 I ever shelled out.

that dwarf is fantastic. nice talent you 2 have there. my wife normally does stuff like that (i draw bad stick figures) but this year we were a bit rushed with out halloween pot-luck so did nothing more then a basic pumpkin head.

We're gonna try to do some pumpkin carving. Also gotta find finger paints that will stick on the boys' little pumpkins. I love this time of year.

Thats a nice one Wint. Sadly I'm too lazy...but later this weekend I'll be making candles with people. Thats just as fun, even though you dont get to make pumpkin seeds after.

It's a pity nobody gives a crap over here. Just one more excuse to go out and throw up on random people in costumes. Like any other day, but with the chance they'll play better music than all that dance/trance ********* At the very least we'll get Thriller out of it.

I've never been Trick or Treating either. And the kids who did never really got any sweets.

I bought a pattern from Zombie Pumpkins two years ago. I agree, their small fee is worth it.

We're having an Allakhazam carving contest, so if any of you want to enter, please view the news story here.

I was never allowed to go trick or treating either because that man from Ohio that put the Cyanide and razors in the candy in the 80s lived in my neighborhood. I was 1 or even less than one when that happened. No trick or treating for me. My mommy still sends me candy for Halloween so I won't accept it from strangers. Smiley: laugh

That would be pretty awesome, but please don't post it here! We want to keep it as anonymous as possible. ^_^ I'll display entries and you'll get plenty of bragging rights after voting closes.

Tsuk: if you buy those cheap $2 pumpkin tool kits at Walmart, some have very decent patterns and of course you'd need the tools to carve that elaborately.

Since it was mentioned in here, does anyone want a design to carve for the contest? I have a design, but since we're already doing a few other pumpkins this weekend and my husband is a cheapass I won't be able to do it. But LJ likes it and I thought I'd offer it up.
#26 Oct 26 2007 at 7:24 PM Rating: Good
I emailed it to ya Pikko. You know, instead of the premium (I don't mind paying for that) I would love an Alla's T-shirt and sticker Smiley: sly
