You know, from time to time we get classic emails. Well, today happens to be one of those days. We remove the identifying information from the text so you won't ever know who wrote it, unless of course they are silly enough to claim it.

Lately, to help Malgayne out, I have been doing premium by paypal, lost passwords, general CSR stuff. As some of you know, I don't like our password generator thing because I can't ever get it to work on my own stuff, much less someone else's, hehe. Thanks to Dana, there's a little trick to assist me in assisting you peeps... THANK GOD, here's why:

Quote:

why can't i get a simple password? i want a simple password with all lowercase letters. why does the password have to look like a russian word??? why can't i log in no matter what i do??? maybe its that dam password with capital letters that look like some lowercase letters. why does it have to be so @#%^ing complicated????????????????????????????? why does it have to be so goddam hard?????????? why can't the @#%^ing password be a simple word with ni capital letters??????????????????????? why do i have sit here and wonder is that capital letter a I or l??????? i tried it both ways and it will not let me log in so i can buy your premium service.i'm using the e-mail address xxxxxxxxxxxxxx. you see that????? it is rather plain isn't it? ALL of the letters are different and they aren't capital letters. none of them look alike. WOW!!! i came up with that address and there ain't no goddam college degree hanging on my @#%^ing wall

Now, it's taken me all day to respond for fear I was being condescending, smart ***, or other. So I just changed his password to something simple and wished him a nice day. But by golly I have had the best time typing responses and deleting them, sharing them in admin irc and coming up with possible passwords. Examples we had are:

ilIil11liIi
urpwsucks
copypaste
@#%^
???????????

So anyway I thought I would share, since I got such a kick out of it! And being off my meds this week, you'd a thought I would have torn him a new hole! And I didn't! YAY! Smiley: grin

Edit: Yeah so what I typo'd from laughing so hard!

Now, you actually aided this obviously demented and seriously retarded person in gaining even more access to our domain, instead of logging him out, changing his email to password@this.***, and resending a 28 character password?

You gotta change avatars. It is having a bad influence on you, treating us so cruelly.

What I completely love and adore in you, DF, is that you have been so self-restrained and mature in your treatment of this person........... and then you've gone and plastered the transaction all over the public OOT, so we can laugh at them.

Sure, their anonymity is preserved from everyone else, but THEY know who they are, so THEY know who is being laughed at. Smiley: laugh

My biggest pet peeve is the multiple punctuation. It's like, I know it's a question if you put one ? after it. You don't need fUcking 20 of them. That is not going to make me treat your question with any more importance or respect you more. In fact, it's going to make me think you are a complete moran, and I'm less likely to help you.

Good on you for your patience.

Isn't the only exception to that a ?! combo meaning you're surprised at what you're trying to verify?

That was some funny ****; the man does raise a point. You should have reset his password to something "ilIil11liIi" that would have be classic

I think the email is a result of the over-prescribing of SSRI's that is plaguing this nation.
It totally looks like the rant of someone who is on Paxil or Cymbalta.

How is it so difficult? I haven't typed in my password in over 5-6 months. My comp logs me in every time I visit the site.
