On another topic, Atlanta is officially out of water. We are the first Metropolitan city in the US to be almost totally out of water. We have 5 more days of water in our reserves before "drastic" water restrictions will be initialized. We have all been warned on GA television and radio stations that a limit on wter each household can use will be inacted and soon. Which means a limit on showers and personal laundry. Anyone caught using more than their household's limit will be fined "heavily". The restriction does not take into account the number of epeople in the household.

Everyone is pointing and laughing at Atlanta now because our city sucks and are consequentially embarassing the entire state. Poor city planners = Epic Phail.

I will continue to take my 6 minute showers and move on with my life. I hate drinking water anyway and probably have never had more than a gallon of water in my entire lifetime so meh...
At least those freshwater mussels in the Suwanee river watershed are going to be okay, though, right? Smiley: lol

I feel for you guys, I really do. Where I grew up, we had chronic water shortages. What little water there was, was diverted to agriculture and saving the swamplands. Water restrictions stink. :/

Have you considered airlifting the entire city out to sea? You could become an even larger Delta hub.

Hail, Atlanta!

Having been through a drought with water rationing before, all I can say is "good luck". We used to catch shower water in a bucket to flush the toilet and wash clothes. It's not fun.

I don't have grass or children so it doesn't really hit me that hard since I only use water for dishes, laundry, doggie sustenance (sp?), light cooking, and showers. I imagine that for some people it is horrible though. If I had a lawn and flowers and stuff then I would probably be a bit more bitter. There is not a bottle of water to be had in any grocery store anywhere around me. The soda machines are all out of water too. There was a 30 minute wait at the water fill station at the grocery store, blue ridge mountain water or something like that that you can refill. It's craziness around here. Very similiar to when a single snowflake falls and people rush to the store for bread. What I want to know is why bread?

You can probably order bottled water off the internet or something. For the doggies.

Bread fills you up. When they are snowbound in their houses for three months out of the year down there in Atlanta (happens here in Tennessee, too) they don't want to feel those hunger pains that remind them they are trapped. Trapped like animals.

I'm hoping you won't get a 10k title, but instead Dana will disable your ability to write in caps.

I would disagree with both parts of your statement.

You really just look like an ***. Not that you aren't used to that by now, I'm sure.

If you only really knew me. Not that you would want to, but IRL my ego is almost non-existent. I'm always the first to help someone out, and routinely sacrifice my time and money to help those around me. I go out of my way to help others. I just don't believe that these people are the most unfortunate. Also Belk, it seems like you're the only one that insists on disagreeing with me so adamantly. If you don't like me, fine, **** you too, but like it or not, people are always going to have different opinions, and points of view, and just because they aren't the same as yours does not make that person an ***.

Nah, I disagree with you in this thread too. I've just been trying to restrain myself. Your opinion is totally valid, and nobody really cares. But your comment "***** them" or w/e, painted a big red "I'm egotistical" target on your forehead.
