Meteor shower tonightFollow

#1 Oct 19 2007 at 12:56 PM Rating: Excellent
According to an astronomer friend at college there is supposed to be a meteor shower tonight around the area of Orion's left (your left) shoulder at around 12 central. Its called the Orionid Meteor Shower, it happens every year, lasts for a few days and peaks at around the 21st. If you happen to have binoculars (kaain), they will help you see more of them.

Just an option of something to look for as an excuse to lay out under the stars a bit, if you can see them.

I dwell in a series of complex tunnels and will be unable to view this.

Right now, it's raining harder than I've ever experienced in my life. It's kind of scary. I think my dish must have bought it, because the television just died, and not in the "searching for signal" kind of way.

I'm scared.

There's a lake forming in my driveway, and I can see Turkey stumbling around, looking absolutely miserable.

You miss your ducks right now don't you?

Btw, whatever happened there? Did you charge the owner for them out of spite (they were like $5?)?

I kinda want to suggest an ark, but I'm supposing its a bit late for that?

Also, I'm surprised you still have internet access then, usually I lose everything all at once.

I decided not to.

The other day, though, I found one of my ducks hiding under one of my big pine trees. It has built a nest there, all hidden and secret. Inside, I've counted at least 14 eggs.

Once they hatch, I'm not going to get attached to them. I'm going to eat them.

I have a dish, so the tv kicks off every so often when it gets real windy. Hell, I'm actually on my third dish this year, from having them fall over or having things fall on them.

Seriously, it's time I become a proper farmer, instead of one who forms bonds with his poultry.

I'm more distraught that you are waiting for them to hatch first really Smiley: glare

Smiley: lol It's like night and day. I was only in San Fran once, but I couldn't get over the difference in San Fran and Oakland. Polar opposites in every aspect.

I already have a dozen chicken eggs a day to rid myself of.

And Belki, even a city boy should view all animals as nothing more than resources. If black people understood this, they wouldn't need food stamps, because they could eat squirrels and pigeons.

Are there squirrels in the ghetto?

Edit: I agree, Oakland is scary.

Btw, the meteor shower last a little bit after the 21st most years, but its somewhat hard telling how many are going to come when.

I missed this thread somehow.

I actually don't own a pair of binoculars. I'm more into the "break-in and violently rape" thing than the "fap from the bushes" thing. It's an easy mix-up though. No harm, no foul.

Well crap. I was actually standing outside my friend's house late last night marveling at how much clearer the stars are from his house then mine. It's amazing the difference between living 1/4 mile from the ocean and even 10 or so miles inland. I see nothing but the brightest stars in the soup that is above my home. I might be heading out there again on Saturday though, so maybe I'll get a look at this. :)

Course on the plus side, it's a heck of a lot cooler and milder where I live, so I can usually deal with it just fine...
