I am depressedFollow

#1 Oct 18 2007 at 6:03 PM Rating: Good
Actually, clinically depressed. Again.

Who can guess the cause? Oh yeah. Women. If any other ****** had the **** that I get I seriously wouldn't believe them when they expounded upon the fact. It's just one thing after another in a new city where I'm living on my own, tired from lectures and stressed from trying my hardest to avoid drama and ************ karma comes along and destroys my hopes with oh-so-exacting irony.

I ******* love life. It's awesome.

If it's woman, I don't think that counts as "Clinical" if I'm not mistaken...

Stress and the opposite sex can't cause depression? Can I come live in your world please?

Apparently I used to be Adolf Hitler.

I mean, it wouldn't be so bad if every girl who picked someone over me didn't pick someone who's almost an exact duplicate of me, but probably better looking.

There's not really any way that I can not make this sound like I'm whining. I don't need sex. I don't even really need to go on dates and do romantic stuff.

Someone who liked me as I liked them would be fine. Someone who isn't just going to turn around and hurt me like some do, or let me believe enough that I end up hurting myself like others.

I read that as "I'm too ineffectual to actually let a woman know how I feel, so she ends up with someone else, again. Boohoo."

It's pretty common.

I'd hate to be the "been there, done that" kind of guy... but I used to be married to a girl.

I've been through this mate and it sucks. No amount of cliche`s and catchy psychiatric catch phrases will make this go away.... but time will.

If I'd been dumped that would have meant that someone at least found me attractive in the first place, and had boosted my all but non-existent confidence and ego somewhat. As it is I feel like the lowest link in the food chain. Not even that, at lest they can reproduce asexually.

Are you actually letting this/these girl(s) know that you like them?

Or have you been doing the "waiting for the right time" thing?

Dude, you already know the answer to this. Nobody feels this bummed out when they actually reach out and grab the pUssy, because even if she slaps you at least you tried.

No, what's depressing is if you're too much of a coward to even insert yourself in the first place.

Actually, she knew how I felt.

While I appreciate that must have been more painful for you than my current depression, my situation is dissimilar in that 1) I have no confidence, no charisma, no good looks and no social skills. This is not a winning combination. And 2) yet another rejection is such a crushing blow to my self esteem that I feel ready to believe I'm as worthless as people think I am. Up to now I've always held the moral ground at least, and tried to be a good person. Guess that just doesn't cut it.

Name a (feasible) way in which to reject someone and I can almost guarantee I've had it applied to me.

I know, but I wanted Galka to say it himself so he'd see that Smiley: tongue

My assumption from the way he's talking is that it's a chick he's been hanging out with quite a bit and has started to really like, while assuming she's been doing the same.. then she up and hooks up with another fella, leaving the G-man confused and sulking.

Have you considered going bi? It would double your opportunities.

Although, I s'pose that would also double your potential rejections, too.

good grief Overburn. It's TOO EARLY to say "story of my life", especially when it comes to your history with dating/relationships!

On the bright side, you have oodles of time to get practise, and work on your techniques at sharing your emotions (which is what keeps most women around).

I'm going to be Hall-mark now....

EVERYONE has someone. You just haven't found her, or aren't looking hard enough, or maybe not in the right places. Back during school I always hung out with the girls, had very few guy friends and didn't get a lot of attention from the girls I "wanted" to get attention from. However, it was always the ones I got to know, got close, that I ended up falling for in the end. (Which ended up being my wife... so I don't think that really gets the point across... err). My point would be to find someone interested in you that you can see your self in (No innuendo here, please) and go for it.

In time, you will find the one.

Oh, and just do it. Thinking too much hurts you worse than just asking the girl.

Actually today someone made me feel kinda old. She pointed out that I started school over a decade ago, which I know isn't much but that's like.. kinda a lot in relation to my age.
