yeah!!!! -3.5 games! with a series coming up with the Yanks. After and impressive win last night (lmao my friend's dad caught the HR ball, hes the kid in the Red Sox shirt going psyco) i think they can catch them. What do you think? Sox will catch or pass the Yanks? or just win the Wild Card? or die off and not even make the playoffs?

Boy, you really want to jinx them don't you?

Reality is they're not playing really good ball right now. They are playing at the level of talent they are facing, as opposed to playing on another level, like, sadly, the Yankees. The last series against NY was an eye opener. They exposed a lot of weaknesses, and we haven't played well since.

Boston will make it in as the wild card, and face a very underestimated Minnesota team in the first round, and then if they make it past that, they will face the Yankees again.

The team will go the way of Wakefield, Lowe, and Arroyo. It's that simple.

Truthfully, I don't see any team beating St Louis. They have been playing well all year.

Well, shoot - I wanted to say, "Go, Tribe!" - but it's kinda late for that now, eh? So, who do we have?

Yanks - don't have the pitching this time around
Twinkies - they've done it before...
Sox - cursed, sorry...
A's - they've done it before...
Anaheim/Texas - Oakland's not gonna let them in...

Dodgers - crash and burn
Giants - walk Barry!
Atlanta - they've done it before, but always with better pitching...
Cards - they've done it before and they look pretty awesome now!
Cubbies - my heart's with 'em, but... cursed as well!

Dissenting comments?

The BoSox peaked too early and now they are slumping-- not a good thing when the season is about to end. Smash said he wasn't worried about the 14-1 humiliation the Yankees gave them last week and said, "No worries, just wait till we get them in de Green Monstah." Well, they got them there and lost last night in virtually the same way they lost in the post season last year with poor management. Even Pedro admitted he is Joe Torre's ***** by saying the Yankees are his daddy. Yes, he actually said that last night in an interview.

When your ace is talking freely to the media about how he can't get it done to the arch rivals, your season is over even if you do make the wild card slot.

The Bo-sox will not stand a chance in the play offs against the Yankees. So my money is on the Yanks.

The Sox won tonight and are only 3 back from first. They have clinched a play off spot. This could be the YEAH Baby! Or not. ;)

Sox look good, too bad they are the BoSox and not a winner like the Cardinals.

Cards vs. Angels, Cards in 5. Pick any of four players from the Cards and they should be N.L. MVP, not Barry "Juiced" Bonds.

The Angels have to worry about making the playoffs before they can even think of being in the World Series.

This weekend's series - Angels vs. Oakland! The playoffs start early! That's what it's all about!

You're just a hater.

How would steroids affect his OBP? His pitch selection?

You're a goddamned idiot.

Barry is the greatest hitter of all time and you sit here dissing him with 3rd hand info.

Shame on you.

really barrys HR records may be tainted but heres a few things i realized:

1. he has to be able to hit the ball.
2. his BA is very high because he can do #1
3. his OBP is very high because he:
a) has a good eye
b) can hit
c) can draw alot of walks
d) INT walks

Also Sox clinched the playoffs. If they win the Wild Card it will be Sox vs. Twins.

Sure, he can hit the ball. But, how many of those hits become ground outs and pop flys when you can't hit the ball out each swing of the bat?

Greatest hitter of all time? I would have to go with Ted Williams or the youngster from San Diego Tony Gwynn. You remember him, he was winning batting championships when Bonds was trying to figure out which steriod was best for his schedual?

I hate when players in any sport reduce the game by cheating.

Barry Bonds could end all these problems by going to a uninterested 3rd party and allow himself to be tested for any and all steriods and also any other performance enhancing drugs.

Let Bonds ,who sits in his recliner because he is special, step up and prove all the speculation wrong, and then I will recind this arguement. Until that happens he is just another cheater, like Pete Rose, some of the players from the Black Sox scandle, and Sosa and his "batting practice" bat.

Players who go out and play hard and still win, without cheating like Jeter, Edmonds, Schilling; they are what makes baseball special.

I think the Athletics would say the Angels seem very worried.
