If I ever use "nerfing" in a political context, I would hope someone would shoot me.

That's hilarious. What would have been even more funny is if he would have won the case and the punishment was for his wife to submit to him for the sentance the judge deemed appropriate.

Hell, they sued McDonald's didn't they?

good point, carry on. I once heard from my friend- this guy bought an rv from this company. He put it on auto-drive while on the free way, goes in back to make some coffee, and it crashes then he sues the company and wins. Also heard another one where this fat guy breaks into a house thru a chimney, and cuts him self open. So he sues the owner of the house and wins. He claimed it was a safety hazzard to children and animals. WTF?!?!?!? He still went to jail for trying to breaking an entery and something else. But, I laughed soooooooo hard.

Some woman spilled coffee on her lap and received some second degree burns. She sued McDonalds for millions because they didn't tell her that the coffee was hot, nor was there a warning anywhere on the cup.

Of course, why anybody would expect their coffee from McDonalds to be cold is beyond me, but the courts don't take stupidity into account.

Actually, she sued them for being dumbasses who don't listen to their customers.

The coffee was too hot for human consumption. The machine was making coffee that no human being could drink due to the temperature. She bought coffee their regularly and told them about the problem repeatedly. They did nothing to fix it. Then it burned her dainty parts when it spilled in her lap.

Anybody responsible for burning MY dangly bits after *I* told them about such a problem wouldn't have to worry about being sued. There'd be another story about a shooting at McDonald's.

All that aside, Ralph Nader has ONE good idea. Punitive damages SHOULD go to the state.

Thats the problem right there. Only in America would someone frequent a place regularly where they are unsatisfied with the product.

Let em put mustard on one burger I order. If I'm feeling particularly nice, I may go back in 2-3 years. If I go back immediately, it's never a good scene. For some reason Mucking Foron isn't viewed as acceptable praise. Even when it's fitting.

Notice the little caution on the cup. It said hot, if she does not like it, why be a customer? Go to burger king, imo- mcdonalds is over rated. Burger King ftw! Besides, who the hell gets 3rd degree burns from coffee? Thats soooooo rare, idk if she did, but if she didnt then wtf is she sueing for? Its her own damned fault. Had she slipped on some ice, thats a different story.

Who gets third degree burns from coffee? Anyone who spilled 190 degree coffee on themselves.

McDonalds has settled hundreds of lawsuits for burns caused by their 190 degree coffee.

I used to think she was a fool and didn't deserve anything too, until I read the actual facts of the case. I know some of you brain surgeons have no interest in silly things like facts, so I hold little expectation of you educating yourselves on that particular "frivolous lawsuit".

I think we should all go around sueing everyone. Especially rich people! The way they work hard and take all our money.

I think no one should sue anyone. Stop being pussies and suck it up. Or else stop beeing greedy and work. Let the crusade begin! YAHAAR!

What would that fall under? Degradation of Household Property?

You do realize that the Caution - HOT! statement was added after the lawsuit, right?

Are you ******** me? It wasn't there before? Hah, was at Burger King I know that for a fact. I seem to remember it being there for the longest time. Wonder if any one has sued 7-11 for brain freeze ha ha ha!

Actually, I was wrong, I will admit it. McDonald's did have the words "Caution - Hot" on their coffee cups before the lawsuit, but it wasn't very prominent. Hence, me not remembering they were there before the lawsuit.

Since you really don't know anything about that case - here is a link for you.
