To above poster BEING IN THE MILITARY is the key phrase

How can people be against a president who takes care of the people that protect YOU?

You're reply makes me think of my dad who is retired from the Navy. I myself don't really care for neither one. It seems like this years running has 2 candidates who shouldn't really be running. But there are a few bs commericals and 'statements' from the Bush camp. that is swining me toward him.

Because your lack of content or depth in your posts has failed to impress me.

If you would bother to be hateful or spiteful, you might manage to retrieve some brownie points, but I doubt it. It's probably a time-saver if you just go ahead and drink the koolaid.

Change Bush's (well, the Republican party's as a whole would be better) stance on most social and environmental issues and I'll vote for him. Deal?

Are you suggesting that Kerry wants to roll back your raises?
#14 Sep 10 2004 at 11:37 AM Rating: Decent
Well to be honest im not a hatefull or spitefull person, and if i was payed to be "IN Depth" i wouldnt be in the military. But the question is why do you hate someone who takes care of the people who Protect YOu? For those of us who are in the military Kerry being electeed into office will be a travesty for us and our families. whats wrong with taking down Sudam he was a terrorist we (congress) declared war on Terrorism, whats wrong with that?

What i Do hate is when all of this began (almost 3 years ago) everyone was OMG Bush is a great president! Now everyone hates Bush? We have lost a few lives, so what its war it happens! Would you rather people blow our schools like in Russia? So we have spent some money? So what its war, war is expensive. We have lost less lives in this campaign then many others, and weve accomplished many things! Freed two countries who desperately needed it, Afhganistan and Iraq! For those of you who say BS, i say were you there? Because i was, those people lived in fear of there government, you dont understand how great you have it here, none of you do. Those people showed us more appreciation then we recieved coming home...to anti-war anti-Bush BS! Me and my fellow military members fight and die so you can have the ability to hate us in the public, thats okay i believe in freedom, but so should you.

Whether you vote for Bush or Kerry is youre desicion, however youll be hurting youre military for 4 years at least. I can tell you now that many members will leave and not come back if Kerry is voted in. Its a very sad affair. You may flame me now, or respect my opinion as i have respected yours.

Kerry cannot roll back raises that were put in place by congress however as far as ive drawn from his comments he plans to "Cut Back" on military funding such as

Tri care- the medical insurance our family enjoys

Programs that improve the life of military members Ie. Housing, exchanges, etc..

No planned raises

If Sudan was such a terrorist problem why did Bush not invade that country? I am all for protecting the country from terrorist, but the fight is harder then people like you believe it is. Going in guns blazing to "shock and awe" will not help that much. Terrorism is not specific countries, it is organizations across several countries, and the US has its own share of them. It takes different approaches to do so, and if you had not noticed Iraq has more terrorism in it's borders now that Saddam is out of power then before.

Nope my oppinion of Bush is about the same as when he took office, not the best person for the job, but slightly better then Gore. As far as who is better this time around the are about the same.

First the US has not Freed any countries, both Iraq and Afganistan were free countries before the US invasions, but are now occupied by military force. You can start spouting this none sense off after the US has left the countries and the new governments, if they are still around, have improved the lives of the citizens and recovered from the occupation, say in about 20 years or so. As far as the people living in fear, that may be true but there are worst countries then Iraq for this why has GWB not gone to help those countries? IF the stance was to make life better why start way over in the middle east when there are dictators close to home terrorizing their citizens.

I believe in freedom, in fact no one here has even prevented you from posting your thoughts. From my personal experience, it is actually both sides that are just as guilty as each other for trying to stop ythe other from making noise.

AS far as Kerry hurting the military, I doubt it. Cutting spending does not mean the entire military will colapse. As far as people quiting because they wont get raises, that just proves what I said several months ago that most people in the military are doing it for the benefits and not any patriotic reasons.

So with "being in the military" being your key phrase, you'd best stay there, because once you get out, Bush's VA cuts are going to leave you supremely a$$*******
