Hello, could someone give me a good spybot / spam scanner?Follow

Recently, I have been getting a lot of advertisements. I know that these are spybots because sometimes the names have directories in them leading to my documents and settings folder. I have tried using Spybot - Search and Destroy, but to no avail. I still seem to be getting a lot of spybots. I've come asking you instead of typing it in on google because I realize that there are a lot of spybot scanners that are fake or have spybots installed on them themselves.

Can someone please tell me where to find a good, free spybot scanner and mabey a free spam blocker?

Google has a free blocker you can download.

I suggest you go to pc worlds websight and download mozilla's firefox web browser. It is not active x friendly, and active x is what gives most spybots and spam the ability to work.

Firefox will limit somethings you can see, but I have only run across one embeded movie on a page I couldn't watch so far.

Don't use I.E., it is full of holes.

Well, there is the Google Toolbar. It has a built in pop up blocker. Yahoo has a toolbar as well, with a built in anti spy thingy and pop up blocker.

There is Ad-Aware from Lavasoft. It's an anti spyware program.

Of course, you also want to run a full virus scan as well. Here's a free online virus scanner.

spybot search and destroy, i forget exact site so just google search and destroy. itll delete almost all the programs that you have that create pop ups. I still got one called DHSVR and Wuaclt when i ctrl alt delete that wont shut. think that might be a kazaa type one that NEVER leaves no matter what.
