Ok, so I was jokingly searching on google, looking for what kinda stuff would come up when I typed in something famous and something random, thus "Scarface Videogame". It turns out, the nightmare really is coming true. I don't care rather it will be a good game or not, I'm tired of game/movie companies feeling the need to draw upon a timeless classic just because they don't have enough creativity to create a masterpiece. This wouldn't be so bad of an atrocity if they weren't butchering the storyline of my favorite movie of all time. http://www.gamespot.com/news/2004/08/10/news_6104520.html

Am I the only one who thinks this will suck?

::SCARFACE (THE MOVIE) SPOILER::

Apperantly in the game, at the end when Tony Montany was shot in the spine with a rifel at point blank range, than fell of his balcony, creating a pool of blood in his own fountain, laying face down, he didn't die (according to the game). So, after becoming a cocaine addict, after his own Mother expresses her hate for him, after his wife left him, after he murders his best friend who just got married to his sister the day before his death, after his little sister tried to kill him and died herself in the proccess, after he lost his sanity, his goal is to now gain back the money he lost >.> I'm not going to lie to you. I have a lot to live for. You probably have a lot to live for. Tony Montana, however, has nothing to live for.

::END OF SPOILER::

Ok, so let's say that this game isn't going for a storyline that has anything to do with the movie of which it shares the same name to. Let's say it's just shooting for pure gameplay. There isn't much we can say on it now, as there isn't much info. But there is one thing that is bugging me of this GTA : VC clone/originator - YOU CAN'T KILL PEDASTRIANS (unless you get into a gunfight with someone and "accidentaly" shoot a pedestrian). By all means, if they can make that work, I will applaud them for making Tony Montana stay within character. All I'm saying is that even in True Crimes, a game where you were a cop, you could either choose to be a good cop or a bad cop.

Am I the only one who thinks this will suck?

Producer of the game comes off as an arrogant and ****y... Especially for making a game that is pretty much going to be a rip off of GTA:Vice City, he even called GTA sh*tty.

And here's a thing I "liked" that was mentioned as part of the part of the article called "Straight from the source".

The '80s tunes defined Vice City, so what's left? According to the developers, GTA makers Rockstar didn't use any songs from the actual movie soundtrack, so those would all be fair game.

I guess those brainiacs forgot that GTA3 had an entire radiostation dedicated to the music from Scarface, that of course being Flashback FM.

Here's some more details about the game from the preview -

Other things from the preview:
---------------------------------------------------------------
- You can't kill random people because according to the makers "Tony wouldn't do that" However if somebody gets in the way of a grenade or speeding car, then accidents happen.

- Tony has a "provoke" and a "nice" dialogue button option. Apparently you can go up to anybody and Tony will curse them off. This can also be used during firefights to intimidate your opponent. Nothing is said about the "nice" dialogue.

- Tony has a "Rage Meter" that lets him get shot multiple times and he will freak out

- Tony will not be doing any drugs in the game because that is a no no from the ESRB (despite the fact that its an "M" Game)

- You do lots of drug deals in the game, but you'll never know if its with an actual buyer until the person flashes a badge. If its a cop you may be able to bribe him, but if its a Fed you might be in trouble and have to shoot your way out.

- You can get henchman in the game who will watch over your house, assist you in missions, drive you around while you make drug deals, or do the shooting while you're driving.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I would like to point your attention to this little tidbit -

- Tony will not be doing any drugs in the game because that is a no no from the ESRB (despite the fact that its an "M" Game)

Anyone who has seen the movie will know what I mean when I say 'WTF!?'
When I think of Tony Montana, I don't think of those awesome oneliners, the excesive cursing, or his obsession with money and power - I think of a horrible, horrible cocaine addict. They did it in GTA, why can't they do it here?

I realize I will be flamed horribly for putting down a game that hasn't even come out yet or for saying that Scarface is one of the best movies out there, while many disagree and call the movie overated crap. All I'm saying is that there is no reason why a game company should have to barrow from anything more than 20 years old and suddenly decide to make a game out of it. Please, be more original. I wonder if we can hope to see a The Godfather and Goodfellas game. While we're at it, why not add A Bronx tale, thats gangsta too, it'll give money >.>

You already posted this in the correct forum, why bring it here too? Leaving now would be a good idea for you.
