Hello everyone,
I came to post here because this is my last thread of hope. My computer has recently been acting oddly and I would like some advice. I will attempt to describe the condition to the best of my ability (I am not a computer guru).

It has had a dramatic decrease in performance. I have run a defragmentation of the Hard Drive, Check for Virus, and got rid of all the misc. Spyware on my computer. While all of this seemed to help average performance of my computer, it did not affect my gaming programs. While the rest of the computer performs better, games such as FFXI, constantly experience "lag". It's as if it slows down every time I turn a corner. Also I should mention it has a much more difficult time multitasking (sp)

If anyone happens to know what is wrong your advice and experience would be much appreciated, Thank you

*note* I should also mention that these conditions appeared about 4 days ago

Have you changed any settings in the computer at all?
Have you recently installed or reinstalled any software/hardware?
What methods/programs did you use to "remove" "scan" for Virus/spyware?
How much room do you have left on your hard drive.
What OS (version of windows) are you using?
What are the specs of your Computer and Video card?

start with these questions and see what i can do.

:-)

Okay let me answer these to the best of my ability

1. Just Neverwinter Nights, my BF wanted me to play with him so I installed that. I would like to note, however I have tried to uninstall the program, but no luck
2. I used a program called Ad-ware; I heard it was really good for the job :)
3. About 14 GB
4. Windows XP Professional
5. Wow, I never really wanted to tell anyone this but my computer isn’t that good, I am just happy to have what I have :)
Processing Speed: 900 MHz
Ram: 512 MB
Video Card: Geforce 2 MX 400 64MB, I know it sucks... :(
Hard drive: 40 GB

I also need to add I have recently been receiving a stop screen upon shut down
Page_fault_in_nonpaged_area
Stop: 0x00000050 (0xFFFFFF60, 0x00000000, 6x80515F86, 0x00000000)

I would like to give a shout out to my uncle for teaching his niece a lot about computers, just not enough to solve this problem and for Tulant for attempting to help me :)

Memory problem. Try switching the modules out and see if it stops.

this sounds like a faulty memory stick especially since it was said nothing new but a game was added. That being said if you added any new hardware it could be causing this problem.

No new hardware was added (it's been quite some time since i added something), however i do believe it is a memory stick. Well at least that is what everyone says. I am going to have to pull it out and try Prince Pickleprince's Idea. I will report back if it works out. Thank you for contributing to the thread everyone

****after swaping out the memory i noticed it had no effect on my computers performance. So i guess that isnt the problem. Oddly enough though i am no longer getting any blue screens. Oh well.. i guess i will need to try something else :/
