Ok... here goes... I have a question and I'd love an answer that doesn't involve sarcasm, rhetoric, flaming or further troll nukes... if that is at all possible in these forums that is.

My question is this...
Why is it that when people rate other peoples' posts they do not have the courtesy to at least post a reason as to why that post was rated that way (at least when rating down)?

In recent posting on a thread which caught my eye... despite the path of the posts varying WIDELY from the OPs topic... I responded to individual posts in the thread to which I felt like responding. In all of my responses (save 1 or 2 that were completely off topic posts I was responding to in the first place) I referred my overall response not only to the statement I was replying to but also to the OPs original post. In all of these posts, I also provided (what in my opinion was) an honest, thought out, and non-aggressive statement of my position on the topic. This also relates to one or two other posts in the past... where I had actually answered a question asked in an honest and true manner...

In all of the posts I refer to I had said nothing that could be considered "insulting" or "rude" or "off topic" and did my very best to make sure that these posts all pertained to the situation at hand and provided either feedback or information as was called for in the situation.

What I would like to know is why it is that people can go about nuking other people's karma without so much as an explanation when the people involved have not done anything to warrant a bad rating other than to provide a piece of input?

To all of you out there who seem to enjoy doing just that... nuking posts for the sheer enjoyment of it, here's another one for you... but if you would please at least post your reason, it would be much appreciated *this* time around.

edit: took exactly 30 seconds for this to drop to 2.34 congratulations for proving me right. Note the lack of explanation >:-P

edit 2: I'm gonna get dizzy if I watch this go up and down all day with no explanations either way LoL

#1. Stop worrying about karma.

#2. Complaining about karma usually brings rate downs.

LoL ok ok :P but I wasn't so much worrying about it as wondering where some people get off in rating things without explaining their reasoning :) But I guess I'll just listen to points 1, 3 and 5 >:-P

Yes, those darn FFXI'ers rated me down and I'm fine! Although my scholarness is gone, I still have the heart of a scholar!
