I don't know if this is true or not but while I was at work one of my co-workers came back into our office laughing and said that he was watching the diving competition in the breakroom and that a diver got a 0.0 all around because he landed in a bellyflop. Is this true? If so, does anyone happen to have a known webpage to view this? Because if this really happened I'd love to see it and I'm sure it would be out on the internet by tomorrow somewhere.

Before you dive you must declare which type of dive you are going to do.
One of our guys, who people didn't think would even compete due to back problems, failed to do his announced dive (he only flipped once instead of twice or something like that).
Failure to do the dive as announced results in an automatic zero.

In diving competition you have to inform the judges what dive you are going to perform.
If you fail to perform the required elements in the dive you get 0.0
for example in the 3 meter synco this olympics, the chineese where to do a inward 2 1/2 with 2 twists, one diver made a hash of the takeoff and only completed 1 somersault after the twists and got a 0.0
If you hit the board after completeing the required rotations then the dive is considered complete and although you would be marked down on a poor entry you would still have a low mark not 0.0.

OK I got more info on the guy. Yeah I heard he was having back pain before the event and he couldn't do all his stuff. I didn't know that not doing exaclty what you told the judges will result in a 0.0. Well anyways the Olympics suck this year. Way too many scandels and bad judges.
In the '96 Olympics a Russian diver screwed up his prepared routine and ended up doing a watermelon from thirty feet up. It made a gargantuan splash, but he too ended getting a zero from the judges.
The crowd cheered and clapped for him though...
