i sort of play warhammer 40k... i currently am building an eldar army. i enjoy painting more than playing, but i enjoy customizing the models more than i do painting them.
as you may or may not know (if you play), you can use special models as an HQ choice, and they are basically a "hero" in your army for the game. i recently heard that you could design your own custom "heros" (i forget the name of these special models). i thought it would be cool to design a special unit that would count as an HQ choice. it would be an Eldar Guardian Defender-type special character i guess, since they use swords as a weapon. basically, it would be Rogue Defender, and id use parts from several different models to build it. id like to use scimitars from the eldar swooping hawks (2x) and paint them a nice dark green/bright green color (the dark green would go on thicker, back-part of blade, the light green would go on the sharp part of blade) these blades would resemble the (so ive been told) ranger epic weapons, thats how i envision them.
the body i would probably use one of the eldar guardian legs, and also the chest most likely, since it fits both the slender body type i want, and it fits into the leg-piece. the arms would either be guardian arms bent to hold the blades infront of him rather than be shaped to hold a gun. the head i would probably use a guardian helmetless head... i guess i might put a cape on his back, or maybe "hang" a gun over his shoulders via a shoulder-strap idea (wouldnt be visual, would be implied)... i want to know if any of you have any suggestions for the model... ex. if i should attach small daggers to his hips, so that he has a rogue-ish feel, or maybe ditch the gun (it IS warhammer 40,000 not eqoa time set, so guns are acceptable), i have a basic idea in mind but details are up for grabs... suggestions welcome =D
