Post count has nothing to do directly with the color of your username. There's lots of 2k+ sub-scholars.

Karma between 3.01 and 3.65 = scholar. Name is blue.
Karma between 3.66 and 4.34 = sage. Name is green.

Wow, that's not what it looks like on mine.
If your a scholar your name is yellow. If your a Sage your name is red, I can't remember what Guru's colour is. Hope that helps.
