Just got back from seeing The Village and I got three words for that movie.

PIECE OF CRAP!

God it sucked. I don't want to ruin the movie but one thing I'll tell you is that you know how it's made out to look like a horror/suspense movie? Well there is almost NO horror and the suspense was masked by the sheer bordem of the crap in between. If I wanted to see a movie like that I would have saved my $8, turned on the T.V. and watched PBS.

Ok, it wasn't comparable to PBS but it sucked a fat one.

That's kind of been my feelings on all of Shyamalan’s films so far.

After 6th Sense, they just lost their pop.

Just my opinion, but he's too damn bleak. And slow.

A cool, twist ending is just not worth it if you've sat thru a dull 2 hour movie, I'm sorry.

Actually, I'm not being quite fair, I thought Unbreakable kicked all kinds of ***, but I'm big on superheroes.

Signs bored the hell out of me, tho.

Gonna see The Village tomorrow. Maybe it'll change my opinion.

Well im sure this wont be his make or break film but im sure this one did suck alot. I was watching ebert and roepr on Jay leno two nights ago and they said this movie was one of the worst of the year. Im gonna skip this one. If you guys wanna see a great movie go to Bourne Supremecy.. that was a great movie. I was gonna see village because i liked m night shamalans films so far but instead i think i will go see the Manchurian Candidatte or Collateral, those two movies were supposed to be good.

The Bourne Supremacy had one major flaw.

The camera work.

Sweet jumpin' Jeebus, could they just hold the damned camera still for a few seconds? They jumped and jittered around so much I thought I was going to get seasick.

I spent 4 1/2 years at sea, and never got seasick once, but this movie almost did it to me. Oh, and the car chase is waaaay too friggin long.

Thank you for that warning. By the time I finish watching a movie with this kind of camera work I usually have a splitting headache.

I'm dissapointed to hear The Village is crap on a cracker. I was contemplating seeing this one.

Oh yeah, I forgot one other thing that happened when the movie was over and this is no lie.

Everyone stood up and booed. Now that was comedy.

Eh, I had it pegged from the beginning.. but then again I didnt pay 9.25 to see it >.>

A friend came over with a bootleg copy... It was crappy quality XD Since I didnt have to pay for it... well I didnt mind it that much... but then again I couldnt hear half of it, and I was getting really antsy... I much preferred Harry and Kulmar go to White Castle.

okay... so ill defend the frikkin movie... i loved it. been a big fan of m. night however you spell it for years, and although i was a bit disappointed by the lack of horror/suspense i really thought it was smart and well directed. ron howards daughter was really good...

i guess i would just recommend seeing it.. at least a rental... and judge for yourself.

doesnt beat unbreakable, but tons of people said that sucked too, so...

Advertising folks completely got it wrong (three times where it gets halfway scary), but the movie was decent. Only thing that ruined it for me was reading a book with a similar premise and plot about five years ago.

On a minor tangent, I didn't see King Arthur for a similar reason (I'm a Keira Knightley fan); one of her first stateside movies was a made-for-TV film where she played Robin Hood's daughter...bow, arrows, you get the point.

I was against "The Village" from the previews. First off, they started showing previews way too damn early so that when it came out you were already sick of it. Second, no other director that I can think of needs to lead his previews with clips from their first 3 movies. "Oh look hunny, this movie is made by the same guy who made '6th Sense'...this movie has to be good despite us not understanding movie concepts at all".
Despite all of this, I actually enjoyed "The Village". It was far superior to asshat's "Signs" (to which there was no 'middle-of-the-road opinioned' viewers). It had suspense, and despite the already used 'Twilight Zone' twist, worked well for the overall theme of the flick.

It freaking SUCKED.

It took my friends to drag me out as I was yelling at the Manager of the Theater to get my money back before the cops came!
