Any of you technical types out there, I need your input.

I recently got a job working as a graphic artist again. I use Multi-Ad and Quark. For some reason, every now and then, Quark will go and change every font in the newspaper. Anyone know what is causing this, or how to prevent it? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

hmmm, what platform of operating system is it running on? Mac? Winblows? etc...

I've never used Quark myself... I'm an avid Photoshoper. However, a little research into this matter and I did come up with this: Quark's tech support info on font corruption alerts

I doubt that'll fix anything, but I tried... also, do you run any other programs while Quark is making these changes to the font?

I'm using a Mac..not sure of the OS since I just started there and haven't delved into the system yet. Usually at any given time, I'm running Multi-Ad 4.0, Photoshop 5.5, Acrobat Distiller, Acrobat Reader and Quark. Sometimes at the same time when the font goes fooey, sometimes not.

One thing that may help is...set your default Preferences for text to be the same as the ones in the newspaper...oh... and save often.

Just be glad you arent working with the hellhole known as Framemaker ^^
