Was wondering if anyone went and what they thought?

I have attended every year for the past 5 years. Thought it was a great convention, definetly enjoyed all the Booth GirlsSmiley: jawdrop

Got to play Grand Turismo 4, Kill Zone, Star Wars Battlefront and many more games that arent out yet. Saw Everquest 2 game footage, cutsences and charecter choices (definetly a ton of options). Was disappointed there was nothing for sale related to FFXI.

Go to E3 for games. Come on, I make it into the biggest dealers room in the world with the first wave on Preview Night and see people playing Street Fighter. (Okay, I admit it was neat to have your picture taken with your head in a life-sized Sagat's hand.)

FFXI was a no-show, unfortunately (SOE brings their games, though), but Final Fantasy was everywhere. People came as Clouds, Sephiroths, Tifas, even an entry or two in the Masquerade. Didn't know Ifrit was pronounced "if-reet."

Wish I could make it to a Con sometime. Gen Con in Indy is just 2 hrs from where I live but I am always scheduled to work when its here. Is E3 open to the public? I always thought it was only open to industry professionals and the press.

It is, but it's easy enough to get approved for free admission as an "industry professional." Find a friend who runs a news website, or a business with an electronic entertainment-sounding name.

I liked Star Wars: Battlefront, it played well and the graphics were good. Its no Halo killer but probably worth buying when it comes out.

Also, I only mentioned the Video Games that were because I didnt find any of the comic book booths to be exciting. The Spawn Booth was pathetic, its seems to be getting smaller every year. Marvel was promoting card games which I personally hate. The Stars Wars Booth was alright, although it was really crowded. But the cartoon Yoda statue was cool. The Lord of the Rings Wardobe exibit was interesting, the King of the Dead custume was sick looking.

I was just trying to see what everyone else liked at the Con.
