I saw the commercials for it over the weekend...They didn't show much...but I loved the Aliens series of movies and I loved the two Predator movies so....I may go see it..maybe ..even though I think the plot is going to drasticlly suck (I.E. Jason vs Freddy)

why don't you just go and start a fight with a guy thats bigger than you and video tape it, it will have about the same plot and there will be shorter pauses between the mindless violence for talking (correct me if there is any other reason than violence that somone would want to go and seen alien versus predator)

I'm looking forward to it. I am a big fan of the Aliens series, and I really liked the Predator comic books. Wasn't much of a fan of the movies, but still the comic books and some of the novels were great. Sure, its not the most thought provoking movie out there, but it should be alot of fun.

I'll be there first showing. Predator was my favorite movie growing up. So now that they're finally fighting Aleins, I can't wait for it.

I will go see it just to see how great the graphics and CG animations are. I'm sure the story/plot won't be that great (following in true Predator II style).

Aliens II and Resurrection were the best. I was never a big fan of the Predator movies, especially Pred II.

Im gonna see it, fan of both Aliens and Predator since i was 7 years old and a child of the 80's, the comic books were good and AvP2 for comp was fun.

Yes there is a distinct and overwhelming possibility that the movie might suck, im just hoping that its not as bad as alien 3 or Alien Ressurrection. I can stand predator 2 levels of badness though (not the best movie but i still sit down and watch it everytime its on TV).

I attended Comic-con in San Diego this weekend, and they premiered a clip with the alien meeting the predator for the first time. (If you want a blow-by-blow, reply that you won't be spoiled. Otherwise, start yer searching for a grainy videocam recording.) It rocked the house. Those three minutes or so crapped on the entire Alien3 and Resurrection movies.

It's prolly gonna suck big time, but I'll give it the benefit of the doubt and maybe go see it.

And the aliens would wipe everyone out, but you know the director is gonna play with the way they function, fight, live, etc, so they have a weakness-- something the series made certain that you the viewer understood the alien lacked. The alien was invincible except for luck and rare cunning shown by Ripley. The only reason they hadn't killed the human species was because they hadn't gotten to Earth.

Just what are you expecting from a movie called Alien vs. Predator? Director Paul W.S. Anderson's (Mortal Kombat, Resident Evil, etc.) a favorite whipping boy among film geeks who think someone like George Lucas makes a masterpiece with twenty more years and $200 million more, but at least his projects are unassuming and entertaining.

And don't count out the predator(s). They've gotten some upgrades since Danny Glover beat a junior member. Why do you think they wear those masks in the first place, if not to keep the aliens out of their faces?

Im gonna enter into geek territory by debating about a fictional universe but here i go:

I thought they wore the masks because of the whole vision thing and visual display for weapons also i remember in first predator movie it also helped it breath or some such thing. It didnt need it to breath but it helped it.

And yeah if aliens got on earth they would own it, but fortunately the movie takes place in antarctica so the aliens would just be fighting penguins and ***** like that.

But for a movie about 2 different xenomorph species battling it out in a pyramid long buried under the ice in antarctica you have to suspend common sense and reason and just enjoy the special effect goodness.

Didn't the Aliens make it to earth in one of the comic book series? Its been so long since I read any of mine, and the fact that in the comic books Newt survived, but in the third sleepfest she ended up dead. Oh well, it doesn't matter a whole lot. Its too bad we have to wait for AvP and the new Resident Evil. I will at least give AvP a chance, where after reading up on Cat Woman and watching the commericials for it scared me away. It may not be the best movie of the season, but it still should be a lot of fun. That is what is important. After all, George Lucas's movies were good, but they will never compare to the Lord of The Rings series.

Definently going to actually take the time to leave my burrow and watch it. Been waiting for this movie to come out for the better part of a decade.

Edit: Because spellcheck is something that eludes me.

I'll go see it. I liked both series of movies, so I'll probably like these too.

I'm a big fan of any 'monster' movie. Especially the ones where the monster is some big baddy like Jaws or them nasty buggers in Pitch Black.
