FF VII Limit BreaksFollow

I just started playing FF VII as I have never played it before - my husband and I are playing it together as we do on FF XI. But, there's on thing I can't figure out, and hopefully some of you who have played this might understand my problem.

Hmmm....this may be a dumb question but here goes: I am playing FFVII as I write this, and I have a question on the limit breaks - and to use examples I'll select Cloud.

Now, I got his first two limit breaks (Braver & Cross-Slash) with no problem. Then, I was wondering why I hadn't received Bladebeam. Well, about an hour later I saw "you have learned new limit break Meteorain" (possibly in different words). So at this point I assume I must have received Bladebeam and just not seen it when I received it.

So, what is my problem you ask? Well, when the red bar goes to green & I get the option for choosing a limit break the only two that are there are Braver & Cross-Slash. Also, just for your note...when I bring up the menu it shows underneath the two red bars that my Limit Level is 1. So what do I need to do in order to be able to use these limit breaks since I have in fact received them?

Any info or ideas would be greatly appreciated, and I thank you in advance.

P.S. This is the same for all the characters (Cloud, Barrett, Tifa, and others).
