I'm about to buy either the LG VX6000 or the VX7000 through Verizon Wireless (Consumer Reports least complained about carrier ><;;). I'm a gadget freak, and the LGVX7000 is the new toy on the block, so I'm leaning towards it.

Anyhoo...the bane of my cellular existance is that all of the phones I've bought in the past have been "too complex/advanced" for me to find anime/game/jpop ringtones to d/l onto them. I've only been able to purchase ringtones through my carrier, and since when do they ever have anything other than popular American songs? So, if someone could point me to a reliable site that supports polyphonic (CMX MIDI) ringers for d/l, I would really appreciate it! I'm tired of not having a ringer I actually enjoy, y'know?

I'm currently looking at Tagtag.com, which seems promising, but their preview feature doesn't want to work. =P

When you finally find a good site to buy ringtones, make yours Lowrider. Damn, I've wanted that as my ringtone for what seems like forever, but I need to buy a new phone to get it.

I have the VX6000 phone. It's not too bad. I have noticed that it has inferior reception to some of the lower-end phones, though. I typically get 1-2 bars less reception than some of those phones do. And that's with an antenna booster. But overall, I've been pleased with the phone and Verizon as a provider. I've been getting my ringtones through Modtones for the most part. They have had 90% of what I have wanted to get. Verizon has about 10 or so services right there in the 'Get it Now' menu for you to choose from. There's a lot of crossover, but some services do cover rings that others don't. Hope this helps

Paying attention to things like reception is important when you live in a hickass state with poor coverage.

Being the geek I am, and having geek friends.. I have a friend who has the Final Fantasy victory music as his ring tone. I have another friend who used to have the EQ DING! sound as his. I personally have Castlevania theme as mine.

What I want is an All Your Base ring tone :) That would rock.

MTV has cell phone ringers that you can download from all the bands listed on their site.

When you say "convert it over," how do you mean? My previous phones have never had the capability of using custom MP3/MIDI files (/sob) so I don't know how this is done.

Also, I'm looking for anime/jpop/game ringtone sites, if anyone knows of any for polyphonic ringers,
