lets just wrap it up
the xb has better graph because it has a +1 year advantage
ps2 has way way way more games than the xb
ps2 has way way more bad games than the xb
ps2 hit games are real console hit games and not pc port
xb has a hard drive and ethernet port built in
ms is still loosing money on verysingle xb
live is the best thats out right now
the sales of the xb plus those of the xb2 will never equal the sales of either the psx or the ps2
Let's analyze what you have said.
1. The X-Box does indeed have better graphics, but is it realy because of a one year advantage? I just think it has better graphics because it has better technology, which Sony could have easily put in their console. The only next-gen console that should be allowed to argue this is the Dreamcast IMO.
2. True, because of it's backwards compatibilty somewhat, but as your next line says, it also has way way way more hunks of s*** on it's system, which was the fall of Atari. Of course, the amount of crap on it is not nearly what Atari faced with the 2600 tho.... Anyways, X-Box does unfortunetly have Aqua-Man.... If that ever it on my X-Box, I think I'll have to kill myself... I mean that game was worst than Super Man 64!!
3. Shall we look back at Deus Ex for the PS2. That is a great example. Deus Ex for the PS2 was possibly the worst PC to console port ever, which is a real shame, since the original was such a cool and inovative game... Where as Deus Ex: Invisible Wars was designed for both the PC and X-Box, so it feels like it was made for both. Let's also look at arguably the two greatest X-Box games of all time. One is a probably the best FPS on the consoles since Golden Eye, and the other is possibly Bio-Wares most inovative RPG EVER! Heck, it is one of the best RPGs in general! I'm talking about Halo and KOTOR. Both have ended up on the PC, but they are just as good, if not better on the X-Box.
4. The hard drive does give the X-Box an upper hand, allowing people to save $20 dollars on one of the classic, first generation X-Box games.
5. Since Microsoft has a lot of great first party titles like Unreal Championship and Halo, they hardly lose money on me! While there aren't that many first party titles, all are top notch in quality!
6. Couldn't agree with you more. Live is incredible, especially with the ESPN series. On another note, EA might have just handed over the X-Box market to Sega on a silver platter. X-Box owners are now accustomed to playing Sega/ESPN sports games on their X-Box (online at least), so they might have lost a good deal of the sports market on the X-Box... bad EA! BAD!!
7. This is true, but none the less, the war will really heat up when the two consoles are even with the X-Box 2/PS3 battle. While I won't be suprised by any means if Sony wins it, X-Box 2 will most likely be a very close contender!
Anyways, I just tought I would show you a list of games that I will probably buy for each system over the next little while
PS2:
1. GTA:SA
This is only if Rock Star makes it good on the PS2. If it lacks in quality like GTA:VC did, I will not buy it for the PS2
2. Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater
I'm not sure if there are many PS2 owners out there who aren't somewhat excited about this game!
X-Box
1. Halo 2
Just put in the pre-order for the Limited Edition yesterday! Something tells me this game will hardly ever leave the disc drive... until I own the next few games on the list!!
2. Half-Life 2
The people who make this game are promising that it will be just as good on the X-Box as it will be on a high end PC, and from the looks of it, they will live up to that promise! The only thing that will stop me form getting this game is if, unlike the PC version, it doesn't come with Counter Strike 2
3. Splinter Cell 3: (Forgot the title, but it was announced resently)
While it is not officially announced for the X-Box, Ubi Soft has hinted, both with past SC game being X-Box games (X-Box exclusives for a while!) and other things, I'm sure it will be on the X-Box! Anyways, since I somehow missed Pandora Tommorow (I'm so sad :'''() I MUST own this game. I hope they keep that insanly good multiplayer that was in SC:PT in it, cause I want to play it on X-Box Live!!
4. Jade Empire
After releasing the best RPG to date on ANY console as far as I'm concerned, how can I not be anticipating Bio-Wares' new, martial arts, real-time, RPG. This has so many differnt styles of martial arts, I think I'm going to be dizzy!!
(Before you read, know that I LOOVVVEEEE lots of what Lucas Arts do!)
5. Star Wars Battlefront
First off, it takes the Battlefield 1942 approach on war. That enough is reason to buy!
Second off, it is the first Star Wars game EVER to have content from all six Star Wars movies!
Third off, I just want to kick some serious *** over X-Box Live in the Star Wars Universe!!
6. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic: Sith Lords
This one takes the title of "Longest Star Wars Name Ever!" finally de-throning Star Wars: Jedi Knights Two: Jedi Outcast! That aside, I think the original was one of the greatest games on the X-Box ever, and can see why SOO many people gave it not only RPG, but GAME OF THE YEAR! I MUSTTTT play the sequeal :)
7. Mercenaries
The final Lucas Arts game I'm really excited about, Mercenaries pretty much gives you a play ground with thousands of enemies to... "play" with, and says, "Have at 'em!" Just the thrill of charging an enemy base, stealing a tank, then flying away in their helicoptor sounds so cool!!
8. Fable
Peter Molyenux, which I probably spelled wrong, could be considered the God of the sims world! Starting out with humble begining with Populus and War Monger, he has gone on to become an encredibly influencialy game designer. Fable doesn't plan to stop that. It was, as he says, his dream game. Probably the most open-eneded RPG ever, this could de-throne the KOTOR series of it's dominance in the X-Box RPG world!
That about raps it up. Final score, 2 to 8!
