Let's see what all of your all-time favourite movies are..

My Favourite Movie of all time is The Matrix, awesome idea but too bad the sequals sucked.

Another great one is Requiem For A Dream... Awesome movie about drugs/addiction, great story line, you should check it out.

Super Troopers!!! WOOT great great comedy, gotta love it =D

Many more, too lazy to put em all =P

Ha. dune was only good as a book. All adaptations of the book as a movie are pure crap.

Thanks for bringing that up though because now I am going to read Dune again because I remembered how much I enjoyed it.

I'll agree that the books are far better than the movie.

But I still enjoy the David Lynch version.

The newest one though...never watched it. It simply looked like it blew 300 year old donkey ****.

To each his own, but I thought that the book provided just the right amount of detail for me to make a vivid image in my own mind that I accepted as the truth of the story. The movies just seemed to be too far off of my vision for me to enjoy them.

/nod.

While I enjoy the LoTR movies, they pale in comparison to the scenes and images that I already had in my mind from when I first read the book.

That is simply the blessing and the curse of having a great imagination. Nothing will ever be as good as what is played out in your head the first time you read something.

That would be at the end of the first book, much like it was near the end of the first movie.

You hate the books?

I was going to ask you if you have ever read the Silmarillion, a lot of the references that are made in the trilogy are explained in it. Great book, let's hope they never try to make a movie out of it.

Actually, Bon is correct. Boromir does not die untill the first chapter of The Two Towers. "The Departure of Boromir" is the name of the chapter in question.

I agree with SelfishMan on this one. I enjoyed the books much more than the movies, which I still loved. I've always liked to read sci fi/fantasy, and these novels do such a good job of creating imagery and description in your head, that seeing it IRL doesn't compare.

Not only that, but everyone in the movie looked different than I had pictured them in my head. That's always a trip.
