Okay, if you were to visit Washington DC for the first time, what would you want to do/see first?

My cousin is visiting from the sticks of Virginia and I want to take her into the city. Please let me know what you would want to go and see!!

Thanks in advance!!

Your mother's a *****. You like to jack off dogs. That's right, you heard me. You like to grab that dog by the bone and rub it like a ski pole. Your dad? Gay. Your priest? Straight. **** off and let me post. It's not true, it's all in good fun. Now go away.

Well she is staying in town for 2 months. So we will probably take two or three trips up there. I live super close to DC, about 30 minutes away so I would be taking the metro b/c DC driving is insane.

Just so you know, you might want to call ahead to any monuments/goverment buildings.

Some are still under tight security and you need to get tickets to get in.. The tickets are free, but they just are for security so people just cant 'drop in'

My brother lives just outside of DC and works in DC proper, so just call ahead.

I recomend the mint and the Holocaust museum. The holocaust museum is very sobering but a very interesting piece of history.

Also the Smithsonian museums are very nice, I personally like the Natural History ^^

That should be more than enough time to go see all the big sites (think the obvious ones). Take her to a show at the 930 club or something I dunno. I didn't care too much for DC.

Ewww the 9:30 Club is in a really bad part of DC. I'm just talking about a day trip where we are gone by dark. We definitley want to stay in the NE NW part. No going to the south side for me.

9:30 club is in a crummy part of town, but it's an INCREDIBLE venue to see some great music cheap. All the museums and monuments are pretty cool too for a first-timer. I live in Ocean City, MD so I've been to DC quite a few times.

You live in Ocean City!!!!! You are soooo lucky. That beach is amazing. It's pretty impossible to get lost too. I live about 4 hours away from there though, so I only get to go once a year for vacation! But jeebus you are one lucky individual! Smiley: waycool

I'd add The Holocaust Memorial Museum to that list.

Check out the Washington Monument. I think they still let you up to the top.
