Sublime "Modern Man": Bad Religion
Deftones "Say it Ain't So (live)" : Weezer
Deftones "Sweet As Tabboo (live)" : Sade
the Roots "Shimmey Shimmey Yah (live)": Ol Dirty *******
Foo Fighters "Have a Cigar" : Pink Floyd
Foo Fighters "Darling Nikki" : Prince
Faith No More "Easy" : the Commodores
Faith No More "War Pigs" : Black Sabbath

I think we can all agree that the worst cover song ever is either Sheryl Crowes Sweet Child of Mine originally by G'n'R or when Vanilla Ice got a metal band together and did a metal version of his own song "Ice Ice Baby".

OOOhhh i almost forgot the absolute worst cover ever is the time i got dragged to see that crap band Default and they did a cover of Heartbreaker by Zeppelin. My god what were they thinking.

311, Love Song-the Cure sounds like the original but that little sort of Reggae beat is pretty cool.

I've seen them perform that live about 3 times. It is pretty good. They even brought out the lead singer of Pantera once to do the vocals with Lajon.

Jimi Hendrix - All Along the Watchtower

IIRC, it was the Dave Matthews Band that did the cover of Hendrix's Watchtower. Both are very good versions, but I prefer the original.

Faith No More: "War Pigs" (Black Sabbath)

Also a great set of songs, but I prefer the original yet again.

Anything on the Industrial Tribute to The Smashing Pumpkins. (especially Bella Morte doing Soma.)

Pearl Jam - Last Kiss

Marilyn Manson - Tainted Love

Metallica - any song before Load (because they were all oringinally Megadeth/Dave Mustaine material)

Orgy - Blue Monday (although New Order Rocks)

Type O Negative - Summer Breeze

That's all I can think of at the moment besides the Pantera ones already listed.

haha

good luck with that mummy you have playing QB! ^^

seriously tho, I think they messed up w/ Brunell. The beating that Ramsey took last year shows you what kind of heart he has on top of being a pretty good QB.

All Along the Watchtower was a Bob Dylan song. The Dave Matthews Band version completely sucks.

Yeah I don't know what the hell is up with Brunell, but they haven't announced a starter yet so I can only hope.

Gibbs did win 3 Super Bowls with 3 different QB's that weren't considered all that great (anyone remember Mark Rypien?.....anyone?).

I now return this thread to it's originally scheduled topic.

Although I prefer the original, Metallica did a good cover of "Die, die my darling" originally from the misfits.

AFI also did a nice one with Last Caress, also by Danzig/Misfits.
