Anyone going to see Spiderman 2Follow

#1 Jun 28 2004 at 4:03 PM Rating: Decent
Now that some of us have subjected ourselves to Michael Moores "film making" dribble (I consider myself a liberal in the middle that is not a big Bush supporter and thought this was, umm well I'll just not comment), was wondering if any of you are going to see a movie worthy of a summer release. I mean come on, summer movies are supposed to be big budget action flics that normally have a terrible story, acting, etc.

I've heard on the *grapevine* that this is supposed to be better than the first one. Whether or not that means much, it doesn't matter. I was a huge fan of the Spiderman cartoons on Sunday mornings, and I'll see all the movies they make, regardless of how many chunks they blow (or don't blow).

After this, we'll have to wait for X-Men 3 to come out.

I thought the first one was terrible. The special effects sucked, the story wasn't that great, and the acting could have been better (especially the Green Goblin). However, even after seeing that terrible special effects they're trying to pass off, the story in this one looks better. I'll probably go see it.

I'm really looking forward to the Bourne Supremecy, though.

Yea, I'll go see this too. I thought the first one was pretty good, and I didn't think the goblin was that great of a villian or an actor either.

I want to see it, by far. I liked the first one not so much because of its movie value but because it stuck at least somewhat to the comic book storyline, unlike some other Marvel movies *caugh*xmen*caugh*.

Hopefully the second one is as good ^^

Well the summer is always worthy of one or two good films. I am going to see this movie regardless as the trailers look pretty damn good.

You maybe.

I can do without the whole phoenix crap.

Only thing good to come out of X-Men 2 was the credits.

I sincerely hope that the sequel doesn't suck as hard as the first one. Sure, Identity had action, romance, and intrigue (sp?), but it really wasn't a good movie. I'll probably see the second one, though, as well.

Go see Boondock Saints, then come back and tell me that Willen Dafoe isn't a good actor.

I'll probably go see it later in the summer.

I am looking forward to The Blind Swordsman: Zatoichi

I grew up watching japanese soap operas and my favorite was about a sword fighting Shogun. I never realized how much I missed those things until those fight sequences in Kill Bill.

I've got an innate ability to drop all forms of analyzation, thought, or general brainpower when I go to see a movie.

Helps me take it in for what it is, and not what I think it should be.

I'll go see it. Been a spiderman fan for a very long time anyway. And this one seems to have alot more of Spiderman being Spiderman, instead of Peter Parker. Which I like.

As for anticipated movies, The new Jet Li movie Hero seems interesting. So what if it's all wireworks. I'm a sucker for the old-school Kung-fu fliks.

AVP. Definently can't wait to see that. I've been waiting for this movie for atleast a decade. Maybe a bit less.

But do they again play the original cartoon Spiderman song during the credits?

Only you really can't beat that as the ultimate cartoon superhero song.

Click the link at the top of the page to hear the Spiderman Theme Song

And yes, I'm sure I'll see the movie. The first one wasn't great, but it was entertaining.

Ok USA Today gave this movie 4 out of 4 stars which they hardly ever do. This equates to "GO SEE THIS MOVIE". I am an avid reader of the paper and as far as movies go they are usually spot on for my tastes in terms of reviewing movies. I'll give it advance praise and get back to you after the weekend on my thoughts.

I saw the movie last night. Well...at 12:01am. I wasn't planning on going to that showing, but I got a last minute invitation.

The movie was great! The fight scenes were awesome. It was as good or better than the second. Only thing that could have made it better, is him not taking his mask off so much. I guess I'm a little bias being a Spiderman fan, but, go see the movie.

Saw it this afternoon. Equal parts soap opera as it is big-budget sfx action.

Tops. Memorable scenes: Hospital scene with Dr. Oct takes you back to Sam Raimi's horror days.

The lady playing classic spider man tune on the street w/ violin.

[********** AWESOME MOVIE!!!![/lg]

Seriously, the first movie pales in comparison to this. Throw in the tie-ins for villian possibilities with Dr. Conners and Venom (with JJJ Jr returning from space) and the posibility that Harry will be the Goblin that helps Parker and it's almost certain the third installment will be on fire.

But seriously, I wonder if the movies are going to take a page from the comics and do a crossover? Elektra is getting her own movie, which is going to be a cheap DD2, but how about a crossover? Spiderman and Daredevil? Kingpin is the villian and they could even throw in Rhino and that acid spewing scorpion dude and that elecrical guy (never really followed spidey all that much).

Saw it tonight. Pretty damn good.

Doc Oc is one of the better super-villains in any movie. The fight scenes between him and Spidey are great.

Okay, I saw it this week and would have no hesitation recommending it.

Solid acting, action packed, romance, a sympathetic villain, great job on the special effects, a conflicted hero AND touches of the original theme song throughout the movie. Also, the fight scenes were filmed very well. None (or very little) of that camera zooming in on one body part so you couldn't really make out what's going on.

All the elements for a solid superhero movie.

It looks like there's going to be a Spiderman 3.

Yes, Spiderman 2 was full of great little nods to Sam Raimi's past work (smash cam, tilt cam, etc).

As far as the fight scenes went, this is what I expected a superpowered fight in the city to really be like. I was in tears.

The portrayal of Parker's frustration was perfect. Too bad Lucas wasn't able to learn a thing or two from this. You really feel the pain and suffering Spidey was in, awesome.

Go see it, then go see it again. If for no other reason than to enjoy the great cameo appearances (no spoilers please).

Good movie, worth seeing. It's kind of a cross between a drama and an action movie, but it works.

I would love to see the Lizard and/or Venom onscreen, and John Jameson returning from space is the perfect way to handle Venom, nicely idea^^

How cool Venom would look on the big screen, omg....

Rhino would be sweet, but I REALLY want to see Electro in the next movie. Favorite Spidey villain ever.

I hope to see Spidey 2 sometime this week, maybe. I can't remember how many times I've watched the trailer, God, I'm such a fanboy....
