I realized a bit ago, that the job that I'd be best suited for and happy to go to everyday and not dread it and hate it would be a History Teacher.

It's too late and expensive to go to college now....oh well... should have put more thaought into it before..

I always knew waht I was into.. but I figured.."Teachers are the bottom of the food chain of jobs, I would never be one of those".... well waht a ******* stubborn *** I was.. I should have accepted my niche for waht it was.. now.. I have a good job, with a good company.. but my heart is in the History Books.. not the MCSE Guides.... alas..

I'll just have to get rich and take over the world instead.
Smiley: wink2

thanks for letting me share, I'll keep coming back

You could become a mentor or a substitute. You could possibly find a college or university that offers night courses for what you want to do. May take a few years, but Kel if that is what you really, really want. I say at least think about it very carefully.

I love my job and it sure makes other atrocities in life much easier to handle... but then again so does a nice influx of cash.

I've been thinking more and more about trying to maybe get college credits again, but I have none and I'm 26. Although I know that still isn't too late at all.. I remember seeing people like 50+ in the community college I went to for a while..

I figure I'm in the Computer field for now.....my love of history will always be here.... eventually I may decide to pursue it as a bigger hobby.. then it maight lead into somthing by the time I'm alot older.... I can be the gray-bearded old crazy professor..

Mu original major in college was Philosophy. god I was stupid...

It's all about Time.
Time is my sworn enemy.
Some people ride on the back of Time like it's a tamed stallion.
I run from Time in fear and hide from it beneath the rags of my doubt.
It's a love affair.

I'd love a job like yours though

26 really isn't too old for a career change. Can't you salvage any of your previous college credits? Sure it will take awhile, and you might have to work some funky hours to get around class schedules but theres no sense throwing your life away to a job you hate.

Go for what you love.

Boyfriend is an amatur Historian and wargame buff, who now is the only Fulltime worker at the Civil War museum here. His degrees in Education and social work help, but it's his reading and love of history that got him the job.

Oh plus a friend who knew the museum was hiring.

Job I'm most suited for is to post on a gaming forum all day long.

Luckily, I'm getting paid to do just that!

I'm 32 and thinking of going back. 26 is nothing. Besides it's probably your last best chance to nail hot 18 year olds without having to pay!

Your mother's a *****. You like to jack off dogs. That's right, you heard me. You like to grab that dog by the bone and rub it like a ski pole. Your dad? Gay. Your priest? Straight. **** off and let me post. It's not true, it's all in good fun. Now go away.

Wow,

thanks I'm tearfully inspired. No sarcasm.(no tears either, but they're there somwhere)
Hearing about others' 'stuff' makes it less stressful for some reasons.
DOes anyone else feel still feel like a kid acting the part of an adult?
THen again my idea of an adult stems from the ideals of my parents and grandparents generations....
Growing up is kid of interesting, because the way you are "supposed" to be will always change with the time..

Maybe I just feel wierd playing video games still... I never pictured "grown-ups" playing video games... life is so odd.

I was 26 when I went back to school to get a degree in English lit and to become a teacher. I'm so glad I did.

It's never too late.
