Help with my keyboard!!!!Follow

I was playin ff last night right, I went to type in the '/'and it wouldnt work, so had to use the mouse to manually send a tell, but it came out like this mykeyoardisroken

No 'b's no spaces, those keys dont work either, and now the 'n' and the touch pad mouse thing( this is a laptop) stoppped working too. Im soo pissed off right now....

Maybe ill 'borrow'this keyboard from work^^

Has this happend to anyone else? This junk is prolly gonna cost me both my arms and a leg >.<

You probably hit the function key and enabled the number pad. A restart, or pressing the function key with the propper button will fix it

Also try an external keyboard. If its not your function key I would venture to guess the small ribbon cable that connects your keyboard to the motherboard is loose.

This happens and is easy to fix if you or if you have any friends that are mechanically inclined. After removing the keyboard, you can pull up on either side of the connector to release the cable, reseat it and press down on either side of the connector.

Worse comes to worse a new laptop keyboard can be as inexpensive as $30 for the parts, however, the labor is another story...

I tried that the function button (fn) on my comp has to be held down for it to to work. And the rest of my keys work normally except for the ones I specified, and would that affect the touchpad?

I think ima have to take it to the shop after work maybe :(

oh and yes an external keyboard works... it sucks having to use it though, the keys are all big compared to the normal laptop ones lol.
