Pistons will kick Laker ***!Follow

#27 Jun 14 2004 at 3:21 PM Rating: Decent
I'm from Philly, and on the sports radio station here they keep playing the Larry Brown audio clip from when the Sixers played the Lakers a couple years back in the finals:

regarding Phil Jackson: "And the Crybaby cries". They should have that cued up at Detroit's arena.

the way Phil tried to work the refs last night was embarassing. Shaq gets away with murder in the post, he should never EVER comment on officiating.

Yeah, I don't remember Phil crying about fouls when he had Jordan on his team. Jordan did whatever he pleased.

Phil complains that his team isnt getting any fouls, but it is Rasheed Wallace that had to sit the first 2 quarters of games one and two because of foul trouble.

As I see it, the officiating is pretty darn good compared to the regular season. These officials have actually been calling Richard Hamilton for traveling.

Ben Wallace IS crazy. I didn't watch the Pistons until the finals, so I didn't know what all the hubbub was about him. Now I realize you have to actually watch him. He's involved in every play. Any rebound he doesn't get, he at gets a hand on or tips it too a teammate. And the number of times he took the ball away in games 2 and 3.

What's with that Detroit announcer though?

He is getting better with every coming season. He got gipped on the defensive player of the year award. The man has long arms and quick hands. In the Nets series he had steals from perennial all-star Jason Kidd.

You should see the difference in fan reaction between 'fro days and
cornrow days. If the players truly feed off of the fan's emotions then I believe the 'fro has much to do with it.

I went to see game 5 against the Sixers last year and I remember being disappointed when Ben showed up in cornrows.

Do the Clippers still have a shot this season?

not to mention shaq's patented elbow-to-the-grill spin move. Ask Dekembe about that one if you haven't seen it. The funny part is usually the other guy gets the foul.

Craziest dude on the Pistons hands down is Rasheed tho. Don't he look like someone's drunk uncle at the family picnic that starts loudly picking fights with everyone? Hand him Rip Hamilton's (Coatesville!) mask and you have the makings of a super villain.

Yay Pistons throttled the Lakers. I partied all night. I am just happy to see the rapist and gorilla lose for once. No one deserves it more than Larry Brown. It is kinda funny to see all the reporters and anlysts backpeddling to back the pistons up. But I can't say I didn't see it coming.

Ok Lakers in seven this is why.

Tonight they will even the series 2-2 with an amazing 35 point performace by Stanislav Medvedenko. Pistons will take the next game and head to LA up 3-2. Lakers win a close one to even it to 3-3 with a 25 point blow out lead by Luke Walton. Lakers then blow out the Pistons with Jack Nicholson hoisting the trophy baby!!

DOUBLE BAM

Actually Austin Croshere has a history of performing well in the playoffs. He was pretty good back in the day, before some injuries.

I'm glad because so many people were saying the real final was the western conference semi. I really dislike that attitude. This was like when the NFC in American pro football won about 15 Superbowls in a row, so there was good reason to expect severe blowouts. Sure, oftentimes the best AFC team was worse then about the top 3-4 NFC teams, but from time to time the games were close such as the first time the Bills went and lost to the Giants, and the Cincinati versus San Francisco game.

Surrounded, as I am, by Laker fanatics, it has been sad to see all their gentle spirits crushed, but since I grew up in San Diego, home of zero world champion teams in any major US sport (no soccer does not count) I can emphatize.

And that, EQDom, is why no, the Clippers have *no* chance. They once resided in San Diego, and are not yet cleansed.
