i'll also have to go with chrono trigger i think, although fatal frame DEFINATELY ties or comes in close second. haven't played Crimson Butterfly yet, but looking forward to it. also looking forward to the fatal frame movie if/when it gets realeased but it's still not even to the cast/crew stage yet. http://www.cameraslens.com/movie.html is the only info available so far so i'm just banking this one off of the game. a lot of ppl didn't like the game because the whole idea of using the camera, but you gotta admit it was creative.

my fav games ever (excluding this game) are skies of arcadia, ffvii, anyone of the maddens except 96, any of the college football after 2002, and power stone 2. if anyone you havent ever played skies or power stone 2, go spend the maybe 50 bucks it would cost for both games and a dreamcast, and play play play, youll love the fun rpg that is skies, and the airship battles rock, and tthe sheer ridiculous fun of power stone. if you get power stone, bring some friends over and buy some beer, youre in for a good time.

Pirates Cove Vic 20
Bard's Tale- Commodore 64.
Space Quest series-PC (Kings Quest series, especially III, gets honorable mention.)
Legend of Zelda followed by Utopia then Mike Tyson's Punch out- Nintendo
Dune for Sega Genesis
I don't play many console games so couldn't tell you what was good for PlayStation or X-Box or the others.
Arcade machine? 10 yard fight. No doubt about it. "Ready, set, hut hut hut hike! swish duh duhduh duhduh duhduh duhduh." the little dude running up then sideways. Oh man what a great game.
And that damn addicting Ski-Ball!

I would have to say Baldur's Gate II. The reason for that is the game came out a little befor I got my first computer and it was my first computer game. Not to mention it was a great game.
Then it would have to be:
(2)The Legond of Zelda: A Link to the Past
(3)Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
(4)The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind Game of the Year
(5)Gothic II(Though a bit buggy you still get to smoke out of a hookah and its a farly good Hack and slash)

The True Best Games of all Time....

Best RPG w/ Replay Value - Chrono Trigger (SNES Version, PSX Version takes too long to load, but the cinematics are cool)

Best RPG w/o Replay Value - Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic (XBox always, Computer if you can put settings high enough to enjoy it... otherwise only XBox Version)

Best First Person Shooter - Halflife for Computer (can not forget the mods for HL -- Team Fortress, Counterstrike)

Best Puzzle Game - Tetris on any of its true platforms... just thinking about it gets that Music Back in Your Head doesn't it...

Best Action Game - Legend of Zelda 3: Link to the Past on SNES (Some may claim this is an RPG but to me it doesn't match up... this is an action game all the way and it is much better so than any of the more recent versions.)

Best Sports Game - Excite Bike on NES (Ohhh hells yeah baby)

*Edit -- Forgot RTS -- My Bad*
Best Real Time Strategy - Starcraft + BW on PC (For the love of God don't get it on any of the platforms!!) Battle.net still services thousands upon thousands of players for Starcraft/BW Despite its age of over 5 years and countless competators since its release including Blizard's own WC3.
*End Edit*

Although I'm sure some of you may not feel the same way I do, and I honestly have no played/beaten every game out there, but I am right and you are wrong so neener neener!

Fallout 2.

What other game allows you to get married, sell your wife/husband into slavery, become a cyborg, become a pornstar, become a gangster, make your own narcotics, and still save the world?

OK,

I don't know if arcade games count on this thread, but I have fed many a quarter into Ivan "Iron Man" Stewart's Offroad. And Galaga is simply addicting.

As for platform games, the current NCAA Football series games by EA Sports are simply fantastic. Zelda: A Link to the Past, F-Zero and Goldeneye are some of the old favorites as well.

Also, SimCity 2000 was awesome, I spent so much time on that its not even funny. Great game. And Civ II as well. Ok, I'll think of more, I'm sure...
