1. LOZ- ocarina of time.

Hands down.

It's people like you two that have made most games into the pieces of filth that they are today. If you think that this is the best game of all time, you are either 15 years old and don't know any better, or just so ignorant that you refuse to play anything that Squaresoft/Nintendo/Sony doesn't advertise to death.

Super Mario

Contra
Smash TV
Mega Man 3 and Mega Man X
Abadox

Dragon Warrior

And a bunch more, but if i had to go through whole list i would be filling up more space than ive already taken.

Ahh Star Fox was genius.

Elite was a game I probably spend 1000 hours playing in high school. Rendered wireframe polygon spaceships!

Mike Tyson's Punch Out and Dragon Warrior. Zork was cool, but I was just too young to get involved with it. Had my eye on downloading gif files and lookin at Daisy Fuentes' nudies.

Phantasy Star for Sega was awesome as well. And Decapatate (not sure is spelling is correct) was awesome as well...something about being a mummy and throwing your own head at the enemy...that was funny...

Punch Out...Maybe that E.T. game that came out a few years back. That's it, all of you are wierd for not putting E.T. on your lists.

Are you talking about the E.T. game that came out for Atari back in the day? Because I still have it...hehehe...classic

Did anyone ever play Warlords? That was an adictive game. More fun if you had 4 people playing it at once. Who needs 3D graphics to have fun?

In no particular order:

Phantasy Star IV
Chrono Trigger
FF VI
FF VII
Mega Man 1-3
Halo
Bandit Kingdoms (old Koei pc, possibly a precursor to ROTK)
Mario Kart 64
Soul Calibur

Edit: It might also be called Bandit Kings, I can't find any info on it at the moment. If anyone knows where I might find a copy of it, or some info, please let me know.

I've got to give props to Zork.

Personally, Zork II was my favorite.

I've GOT to give mention to a fairly recent game, but it's just so wonderful that it just ranks up there. I also think it's very underestimated.

Sacrifice.

AWESOME game. Sort of like a RTS, only not.

The other game that would make up my Top Three is System Shock 1 & 2.

Anyone who thinks that HALF LIFE had a PLOT and was INNOVATIVE never played System Shock 2. System Shock 2 Makes Gordon Freeman look like a little pansy. Yeah, it doesn't have as many great special effects and stuff, but STILL.

Half Life never made me have to STOP playing for a few minutes because I was too creeped out.

I'm saddened that nobody gave props to Planescape: Torment or Fallout. Are there no western RPG fans around here?

I'm glad at least one person enjoyed the original Xcom game.

It's hard to ascertain exactly what "best" is. If by best, you mean the most hours I've played a game, that would have to go to the original Quake and all its mods. That game sucked up almost all my gaming hours between 1995 and 2000, but I credit that to a very active community. That, and I "pwned" in Quake. ;)

As far as the most fun I've had playing a game, that's hard to put a point on. I'm just going to throw out some games that I love to play.

The games mentioned above
Any Squaresoft game pre-FF8, sans Mystic Quest
Pac Man
Any Zelda game besides Majora's Mask
Ico
Super Mario 64
Any of the Mario Karts
Archon
Goldeneye
Rock and Roll Racing
Pilotwings
Gitaroo Man
Grim Fandigo
The Monkey Island series
Zaxxon
Agent USA

In other words, I love games.

Yes I would have to say that the Fallout games where awesome...especially Fallout 2. I also enjoy playing Icewind Dale I and II...

Another classic that just came into mind is Crystalis for NES... oh man I loved that game. I think it was really the first action RPG game that I had ever played...besides Zelda of course...which I love as well!

****...so many games...so little time.......

You know in some game magazine they had a "Best game of all time" thing and Super Metroid won it.

Funny how no one mentioned it. That game was pretty good.
