Wheelchair Users and Online Games - The Survey!Follow

#1 Jun 04 2004 at 5:34 AM Rating: Decent
Hi,

My name is Aleks Krotoski and I am at the University of Surrey in the UK exploring the experiences of MMOG players in wheelchairs. You can see a bit about me at www.surrey.ac.uk/~psm1ak. I posted here a few weeks ago recruiting people for the first part of my study. Thanks very much for the great response!

I have finished the initial interviews and am ready to start the second part. Thank you to everyone who helped! The results have informed the development of a questionnaire which explores whether there is a relationship between your offline self and your in-game experiences. There are sections on you, what characters you play, and your belief in how capable you think you are at doing the things you want to get done, both online and offline. In total there are 11 sections, which will take less than 20 minutes to fill out.

If you are a wheelchair user who plays MMOGs of any kind, please click www.surrey.ac.uk/~psm1ak for my website and a link to the survey! The closing date is Monday 21 June 2004.

Thank you very much,
Aleks

Didn't this survey come up a few short weeks ago?

I believe someone directed them to Mrens on that one. He, as you can imagine, was very glad and happy to answer any and all questions.

Considering this topic has been explored about 95,000,000 times in existing literature, I think it's critical that you isolate it to people in wheelchairs to try and squeeze and original angle out of it.

Next, I'd go with people waering plad pants.

To make a long story short, I don't take any responsibility for anything I post here. It's not news, it's not truth, it's not serious. It's parody. It's satire. It's bitter. It's angsty. Your mother's a *****. You like to jack off dogs. That's right, you heard me. You like to grab that dog by the bone and rub it like a ski pole. Your dad? Gay. Your priest? Straight. **** off and let me post. It's not true, it's all in good fun. Now go away.

FTFY (spelling was horrid).

Maybe we should let Moe handle this one instead of Mrens though. At least that would be more entertaining.
