Since I see other book threads figured I'd ask everyone's opinion on the Wheel of Time series or whatever it's called. Yeah, I'm operating on two hours of sleep and now at work. FF addiction again. Oh well. I just started the series and I'm on the second book. Damn they are long as can be but pretty good. At this point Rand is getting on my nerves a bit but it's a pretty good story. I'm sure others have deeper opinions that have read it more and are more awake then I am.

The first 5-6 books are great. After that, they kind of dribble off into a redundant slosh puddle. But, give the series a try; the beginning of it is fantastic stuff.

Yeah with FF, work and real life I'm not finishing books as quickly no more. Too many things to do. One thing about the books though is the women. I love a women who can kick some tail but I'm growing old of them badgering the men every other line. Geesh. How many times can a guy sit there and be called a woolheaded fool?

First 4 books are amongst the best fantasy fiction in the last 20 years.
Books 5-7 are mediocre and lose direction and a sence of atmosphere as you bounce between the 10-20 'Main' people in the book getting more and mor disillusioned with the storyline or lack there off.
It's a slow meandering decent into mediocraty
Books 8-10 are total and utter drivel that should be ripped up and re written by the author who wrote the first 4 books. I can only cope with one chapter of the lead female char deciding what dress too where before my brain begins to seep from my ears.
All in all they should have concluded it by book 5 and wrote a Prequal series based around Lews Therin and the corruption of the forsaken.
