Khristov, are you thinking of this?

Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A, Select, Start

50 points to the first person to recognize what game that is from and what it gave you in game.

Oooh... Judges? *looks to the judges*

I'm sorry, Contra was correct, but it did not give you unlimited lives.

We have awarded you 20 points for a partial answer, Jophiel.

Worked for street fighter II as well didn't it? Let player 1 and 2 be the same Charcter in VS. mode.

With that said, I plan on getting Ninja Gaiden for the Xbox very soon. I've played a demo and that game is insane.

Game Gear rocked hardcore (full color games). I borrowed one once on a road trip from milwaukee WI. to charlotte NC, aparantly there are mountains in between the two cities somewhere, i never saw them. but i DO know that 2-1-2 down up was the blood code for mortal kombat.

Sega Saturn.

Toss in a copy of Xmen vs Street Fighter and try to tell me I'm wrong... ^_^ Totally rocked the original Playstation in 2D games... too bad the US division of Sega was trying to cram it full of 3D games... bastards...

Oh yeah... the NeoGeoPocketColor is one badass little system too... same deal as the SS (better than Gameboy Color, but people are sheep) and died before its time...

Thats one of Konami's multi-game codes... it worked on other games as well, and gave a similar effect (I believe). In their side scrolling shooter (Gradius) it actually killed you... (or so I'm told).

And hey, didn't it give you 30 lives in 2 player Contra? Thats what the select is for ^_^

Sorry for the triple post, but I keep going back and noticing something I must have glanced over...

Reasons to buy the 3 main systems (from someone who does this for a living)

Playstation 2: Greater library of games. More RPGs than the others, and games usually come out for it first (due to agreements with companies). Also the only system that EA Sports games are online with.

XBox: Best online strategy, even if it costs you money. More racing, FPS, and sports games over all, and tilted towards the 14+ age range. Good collection of M rated games for the bloodthirsty ones. Great for multiplayer games thanks to the 4 controller ports and linkable systems.

Gamecube: Aimed more toward the 14 and under age range, they tend to have a ton of "E" rated games that appeal to kids and adults alike. The only place you'll get your Mario/Zelda/Metroid fix, which is why most people buy it. Good library of games that resembles PS2 diversity, only smaller in size. Another one thats great for 4 players due to 4 controller ports.
