Hi peeps.

I'm new to Bard, and wondering if anyone has good Macro suggestions i.e. what is pretty much needed in a macro set and what is probably not that important. I saw a thread here talking instruments so I think I have a good idea as to what tools i'll need, but any suggestions here would be nice too lol.

P.S. I just have to know... Spoony means? (think i'll search google maybe lol)

Thanks for help.

While leveling, March (x2 when you get access to both), Minuet or Madrigal (as a second melee song until you get Victory March), Ballad for the mages, worthwhile debuffs (Elegy, Lullaby, Finale), and subjob abilities (Cures/Utsusemi) make a solid set of macros.

Carry song+ instruments for any song that you use on a regular basis except for Finale. Or if you are neurotic like me, carry around Hymnus and Virelai instruments despite having cast those particular songs on 3 occasions ever. Still don't bother with a Finale instrument though.

Armed with this new knowledge, I will not rest until one day I have reached such great Bardness that I have been given the title... "Spoony Bard"!!

Here's my general macro set up:

Set 1: Personal buffs, like stoneskin and the like. Also has bard JAs such as Troubadour.

CTRL keys:
NAV key (takes me to my master macro set in book 1)'
Curaga
Cure II
Cure IV (III until you hit whatever level in the 80s you can access VI)
Paeon and Goddess Hymnus (my "Oh ****" macro)
Haste
Minuet (highest level)
Madrigal (highest level)
March (highest level)
Ballad (highest level)

ALT keys:
Foe Lullaby
Horde Lullaby
Requiem (highest level)
Finale
Elegy (highest level)
Utsusemi (for BRD/NIN, less used these days, feels kind of legacy actually)
ALT 7 = Hotkey to switch to set 4 which contains the Pianissimo versions of all the above spells
Hunter's Prelude
March (2nd highest level)
Ballad (2nd highest level)

Set 3
CTRL set: All the carols, and also additional group buffs such as Sentinal's Scherzo and Dragonfoe Mambo
ALT set: All the threnodies

Set 4: The Pianissimo version of the main set. Each macro kicks me back to set 2 once the songs land.

Set 5: Soul Voice set. Not used as much today, but includes an elaborate macro setting that these days could probably produce a nine minute long string of 2 hour buffs on someone. ALT 1 is my main Soul Voice button, which produces the 2 hour followed by troubadour and nightingale before kicking me back to set 2 for buffs on folks.
