What atmas do you roll with?Follow
Obviously max refresh and /WHM make BRD into a pretty serious healer. What else is out there that people have found useful?
There are two kinds of people in FFXI, those doing the laughing and those who don't know what's funny.
Minikin is obvious enough for the first one.
For your second, nothing is going to be terribly useful. May as well just use ambition for the refresh, fc, and move speed. It's not much really, but neither is anything else.

I'm not a brd, but got atma of the deep devourer off cirein-croin which has song spellcasting time -20% which seems like it could make a good second atma.

Because you need more refresh atmas? I didn't say it was amazing I just said it could be useful.

Because brd doesn't have move + feet af3? Brd won't run out of mp either the only thing u would be loosing out on is fc which if your that worried about trade in minikin for it.

Maybe your brd won't run out of mp, but personally, i use a @#%^ ton of mp on cures. Constantly spamming cure4s uses a lot of mp.
Like i said, it's not much, but it sure as hell beats 3% song cast time. Ya know, assuming you're not already capped with just ambition.

It says there is no cap on song cast time, but I don't trust the wiki. Regardless why wouldn't you have a macro for putting on those boots and taking them off? Also not all brds have capped -song time so just because it doesn't help your build doesn't mean it won't help theirs. I can't see a time in abysssea where you are completely out of mp on brd and have 0 temps.

As i've said repeatedly, it's pretty small, but there aren't any good brd atmas after minikin.

Btw what gear do you use to cap so easily?
You were looking at the Song Spellcasting page, were you not?
Fast Cast also works, so it should be fairly easy to cap song cast time any number of ways.
As far as atma goes - if your ls is farms them often, then the really only reason to bring BRD is to trigger magic !!, elegy and crowd control. Any other role is better served by using another job that would benefit more from atma.

I guess I don't get that comment since I always see bards doing what they've always done (elegy, lullaby, march). The only thing they don't do in abyssea that they do outside is ballad (unless they're in a blm party).
But on topic when I do play bard I have some combination of minikin, deep devourer, or ambition. That being said I'm not main bard and I don't have a fast cast set, so I just try have the 90% gear solution available and the deep devourer atma covers a gap that I normally have.

I have always used MM/Ambition for Bard and White Mage. The only time I use any of my other atmas is on SMN, when I use MM/Beyond.
Typically I roll with MM and VV. Saves the melee from having to do another staff WS.
