Im really interested in this - A song that reduces damage taken by party members and Songs not overwriting (so long as its on a decent timer) i wonder if that all dmg or just 1 type.
on a side note. I dont get why you linked this topic to a bunch of rdm junk like it has anything to do with the topic. rdm isnt the only jobs to have fencer.

Rdm doesn't HAVE fencer, hence the joke >.>
It's almost ridiculous that SE considers BRD to be more of a melee than RDM with this addition -_-

Not really... usually a BRD should be Dual Wielding when DD'ing. which means they're NIN or DNC sub, so they'd be keeping shadows/waltzes going, being they take big hits when they're hit.. So that being said, Fencer would have no effect Dual Wielding. Only really helps in campaign, if you're /RDM or /WHM, which I do alot, getting points, Hasting/Curing/Raise/Dispelling etc. I don't see BRDs DDing as something besides /NIN or /DNC outside of campaign usually. IMO this is really just so they can get a lil extra EXP in campaign.
But really though, RDM should be getting Fencer.

I was about to say that. I don't really have much PDT stuff atm, which is what I'm working on. So excuse me for my misunderstanding, I was using the example as if you had a TP set on.

Well I was just with a THF in Cape Teriggan and I wrote down the damage we took. I took about 60-70 most the time, he took about 70-75 most the time as well, both from Goblin Mercenary. So about the same amount, I took a little less, but even then, I'm 80, he's 75, and level makes the hugest difference.
But my point I was trying to make is you usually see BRDs DDing outside campaign (when they do) as /NIN or /DNC. For me at least.

Scherzo would be nice when Piannissimo'ed on tanks i guess, though Haste and Ballad may very well be better if the effect of scherzo isn't fantastic.

I'd say Scherzo would be most useful on kiting tanks or tanks that are /war.
If it's strong enough then WAR/MNK (my favorite combination ever for tanking) might just come back into play.

I believe cap is still iffy. If there is one, no one's found it.
You're forgetting /RDM (FCII= -15%). The sub and Nightingale are some of the single biggest consistent bonuses (outside of manteel and that new hat), and the two of those will immediately push you to ~75% SST reduction, assuming it's additive. Gotta love Nightingale!
Keep in mind I'm retired, but this subject used to be a specialty of mine. ;D

Thanks for the location. Lullaby II doesn't overwrite Lullaby I like I'd hoped. Sleep2 does overwrite it so I guess Lullaby II is just a longer duration t1 Sleep. Which isn't so bad.
