So, I've been playing bard lately (up to 39 o 40) and I was wondering if Bard songs can be interrupted. We all know how bard can pull hate with a couple enmity generating songs; I've been hit many times mid-song by IT mobs but I din't recall it ever interrupting my song. I remember on my other jobs like Nin Blm and Rdm, if the mob even looked at me I would went my panties and get interrupted. So, does the spell interruptiong thing work differently for Bard songs?

Only way to interupt songs is by moving (knock-back) or by resting. It makes it very helpful for sure, but really doesn't make sense to me... you try taking a club to the face while playing a flute and tell me you can finish the song lol.

Someday soon my friends, this ride will come to and end, and we can't just get in line again.

don't forget getting silenced... that kinda makes "singing" your songs a bit more difficult.

Stun and sleep will also interrupt your songs, if they hit you before you finish singing them.

Yeah, songs cannot be interrupted by physical damage alone. This might have been part of the inspiration for COR's Choral Roll effect (lowers spell interruption rate).

As a random tidbit that not everyone knows about, the BLM's 2hr Manafont also provides the same effect, but to all types of spells (that is, they become uninterruptable to physical damage alone). Makes it a good potential ass-saver.

If I recall correctly it depends on if the effect wears off before you're finished singing. If you get stunned early in your cast it will generally wear off before the cast and the song will still go off.

If you get knocked back, you can still get the song to go off if you move back to the same position you where at when you started singing. Managed to do that yeasterday after being hit by one of the sea puks konck back tp moves. The game compare the pos you have when you start to sing and what you have when it's supposed to land.

I'm not sure if this works for stun, but I'm positive that if sleep wears before you're done casting then you'll finish the song.

One time I was fighting some mob solo as Rdm and it started casting an AM on me. So, I sleep it to stop the AM. I figure I'm good and buff up and start wailing on it, and then it completes it's casting AM.

So, I found out the hard way that you only need to be awake at the end of the casting. Works for mobs too. ><

Interestingly though, as long as you get to the same location as where you started singing, you will still fire off the song. Try it out, sing, run in a circle and end up where you started. Your song will still go through.
