Reason behind lack of Bard Passive Abilities?Follow

It has probably been talked about quite often. But it seems just odd that the only passive ability Bard has is Resist Silence. I have always noticed this from knowledge... but..

When I viewed this page,, it is slightly disappointing. At least all of those Job Traits help utilize a job, not defensively always but in many cases, offensively or in some ways where you will always be using it in a case.

I am sure there is amazing stories of bards saying "Resist Silence saved my life" or something similar. That's awesome.. not really. Compared to other jobs it seems just easier to use an echo drop.

Is there a specific reason why bard's got Jipped on even getting one extra trait? **** not even a Merit passive trait? Is it because bards have so many song abilities? Its hard to find a specific reason why.. any thoughts?

Resist Silence never "saved my life," but it did proc enough to be noticeable when I was in the high 60's/low 70's in Caedarva Mire. Eyeballing it, maybe 1-2/10 times. Everyone else was silenced, and I was able to remove it from the tank a few times before the RDM or WHM. Saved a few echo drops, lol.

Resist silence is a PITA in Ballista. All resist type traits are VERY noticeable there.

What more do you really want in a passive ability for BRD though?

Actually for some odd reason Bard's resist silence is the only resist-effect trait I ever notice kicking in.
I supposedly have resist-paralyze IV on my drk but I cannot recall one instance of actually resisting paralyze, however I saw it kick in numerous times in the Mire on my bard.
Maybe it's just all in my head I swear Bard's resist-silence is more potent than other job's.

I'll also add that I also have noticed Resist Paralyze actually working. It's always nice to see:
Kagemanji is silenced.
Vendeen is silenced.
Malus is silenced.
Systermys is silenced.
Wriggley is silenced.
Radioactivepoop is silenced.
Ruhe is silenced.
Draako is silenced.
Krel is silenced.
Tharedguy is silenced.
Resist! Chasca resists the spell.
Lilunulu is silenced.

The reason you notice resist silence more than the other ones is, I'm sure everyone has grinded quite a few imps. They are relatively easy compared to other merit mobs, So you are taking a mob that isn't "that" much higher level than you and grinding a ton of them.. Compared to say paralyze, how many times has the same situation occurred? Normally you won't see the same repetition on paralyze with a mob that is just higher. If Imps did aoe paralyze you would probably say the same thing in Paralyzes favor over silence.
