Currently I am a thief and I was thinking going Bard/thief when I hit 30. I just had a question:

Is it possible to start song no. 1 and song no. 2, then unequip your instrument and equip dagger, make Sneak attack, and then switch back to the instrument again and refresh the song before it wears off? Or do you have to equip your instrument all the time to have the instrument bonus?

And if not; What is the penalty to not equip an instrument and rather go for dagger?

well, heres how it works, you equip your dagger in your main slot, and your instrument in your ranged slot. so you dont have to worry about switching instruments to weapons. what you will do is switch say, a flute for a harp, and theres a macro command for that which i dont remember. theres strategic reasons for that, which youll find out.

also, im planning to make my mithra a bard/thief... so far its very easy to lvl her. especially with paeon, by the time im done with one mob, im fully regened and on to the next... with my taru ive died over 10 times by now, so im definitly a mithran bard fan.

I read a macro list somewhere that gave a list of the macros for switching items.. it was like /equip and then /ra "song" or something like that.. I'll have to look it up when I become bard.. cause it seemed pretty neat to be doing that to be the most effective..

I have never heard of any other class that would use macros to equip items for most effective abilties.. that's really unique. :)
