He was meaning that they're decent rings to wear because, in case you got hit by an AoE or you pulled hate doing a Ready, you're not going to take as much damage. If you're not going to be actively fighting and don't have any equipment in that slot to improve your Pet's abilities, you can at least wear gear that will give you Regen/Refresh and/or -Damage Taken.
