Skadi +1 for all you solo bstFollow

If you are a bst like me, you like to just go out and solo stuff, also you might want alot of that skadi +1 gear.
Well, it takes time. you can farm 5~8 umbrage plans/day for 3 ppl going into salvage....

OR you can get 3 ppl to team up to help each other get in for a solo run each day on salvage.
The thing is BST can solo farm all those plans with little trouble in Arrapago Remnants II. You need to use the trick for 2 players to warp away instead of actually entering salvage, when the dialogue box comes up to click yes, they warp, and you click yes before then compltely disappear.
... but once you are in solo, you get all the gear unlocks.

A bst/dnc will have all the tools needed to go right to a leech mob on the first floor and get the ammo slot unlocked and pet out.
Then its not so hard to solo up thru floor 4 and kill all the NM" which drop plans.

You won't be able to farm any significant amount of alex, but you can spend a ton on mulsums and try to have gooey solo down the NQ version of Khimaira for gear drops.... (frankly I suggst going w/ a more traditional whm, mnk, thf setup for gear farming in neo salvage... but it is doable on solo bst), but its gonna be expensive and difficult.
Yuo will not get any chance at the HQ khimmy on solo bst, but you can take down the NQ. Also, you won't have any shot at farming alex from tiple gears or taking downt he armored chariot in any reasonbly quick time.

but for those bst out there who think skadi +1 might be out of yoru reach, think again. Much of it can be solo'd and it takes about 1 week to solo enough plans for 1 skadi +1 piece.

Nice! This is what I've been doing as well. :) It's all very accessible, provided you've got a couple friends to get you in.

In my experience, the first floor takes the longest - about 20~30 minutes to unlock Ranged/Ammo from a Leech, unlock HP/Hands/Legs/Feet from Lamia, find the Chigoe NM wing and clear all the mobs to get that first Umbrage Plan. After that you just blaze through the rest of the floors, spending minimal time really (since all the unlocks go directly to you, as you said). I usually am at the 60-minute mark around the time that I pop the Qutrub NM on the 4th floor, which leaves at least a half-hour to tango with Khimaira.

I've fought the Khimaira NQ boss in the same way, using GooeyGerard with lots of Mulsum - probably about 10 Mulsum and quite a few pet food. And also I've used a more direct approach with Falcorr/Yuly and 2 Pet: Evasion axes, engaging in between TP moves to speed it up (which takes fewer resources, but can obviously be more dangerous). It's a nice bonus that Khim drops one of the best pieces of Idi gear for making Skadi's Bazubands +1.

I leveled my mule's BST on the same account so I can farm plans twice as fast, too. It's a nice option if you've got the time. :) Good luck, everyone!

ha! my mule's bst is only level 50 so far. I should ramp it up!

Floor 1 took me 28 min.
Floor 2 I skipped cuz I really wasn't interested in the bloodshed plan, though collecting it wouldn't really hurt the run unless I go for Khimmy on last floor. I have all the armor drops from the khimmy's so the only point to fighting him would be to hope for a linen drop.

I'm sure your guttler makes the kills faster for you than me. I'm suing ganelon/str combo.. Getting links of blm qutrub can really slow things down... para from ice spikes is nasty when you are worried about an AoE nuke as well. I was about 1:05 min when I pulled the Qutrub NM. woulda had plenty of time to fight Khimmy, but wasn't interested myself.

any idea how few mulsums/pet food you've done Khimmy w/ falcorr or yuly?

Neat, our runs actually sound pretty similar in terms of duration. :) I also skip the 2nd floor Gear NM. And those Qutrub BLMs are pretty annoying... Also, could they have given the Qutrub NM ANY more HP? XD Takes like 5 mins to kill him.

I've killed Khim with a range of 2~4 mulsum and 8~10 Zeta. It's roughly a 10~14 minute fight, depending on how many times I can get Ruinator off. I wonder if it would ever be possible to solo that Chariot in less than 3 minutes... Fighting the HQ version doesn't appear to be much more difficult compared to the NQ.

Now that this is all out on the table, I'll report back with some specifics from today's run. Let's see how fast we can clear it! :D

solo chariot in 3 min On bst.. I don't think so.
If we could self skillchain maybe.... Start w/ AM3 on aymur and self skillchain might do it.. but really not easy methinks.

I parsed my run also. W/ master focused gear, and familiar, Dipper was doing 40% damage, and I was doing 60%. Guttler would bring a greater advantage to master, but I'll try again to see if falcor+ pet haste is better dd than master focused gear.

Today's Umbrage run:

00:00:00 - Entered Arrapago Remnants (Had some good and bad luck on floor 1 - Hands unlock was on the Runic Lamp, but Chigoe NM was in the last wing that I checked so lots of running around).

00:22:36 - You find a copy of umbrage plans on the Chigoe Stinger.
00:29:48 - You find a copy of umbrage plans on the Acrolith.
00:37:46 - You find a copy of umbrage plans on the Chigoe Stinger. (Plus a cotton coin purse.)
00:47:45 - You find a copy of umbrage plans on the Acrolith. (And one of the mini-Acroliths dropped a cotton purse. Took about 8 minutes to clear this room.)
01:03:32 - You find a copy of umbrage plans on the Qutrub Devourer. As usual, clearing the Qutrub room takes forever and a day.

No double drops today. :( Used 12 Zetas to reach this point.

Didn't bother going any further, but on a future run, might try to skillchain some Onslaught -> Ruinator with Kraken offhand on that Chariot and see how long it takes. Success would largely depend on his love for Mortal Revolution. You're probably right that it's not possible though.

I'd recommend self-skillchaining the Qutrub if you can. He takes something like 3x normal damage, so the skillchain does ~9x damage.

Now, I'm rather jealous...
you're running around w/ kraken club and Guttler...

though I'd have guttler by now if I were more focused on actually getting it.
I keep selling all my dyna currency and putting it into alex though... and yeah, skillchaining in Neo Salvage is Super helpful. dropped some 14k light skillchains on that qutrub before. that was thf mnk combo.

Primal > Ruinator is darkness Iirc. and I've done 6.5k ruinators on that qutrub... so if youc na skillchian it, then you could drop a 14k I'm pretty sure...

chariot doesn't take the extra damage, but skillchains still well worth it.

Nice 14k self skill chain.

I didn't even think of onslaught, though I should have.

How did you do those WS so quickly? I expected there to be a reverse flourish in between... Or you just chopped together the image... Yeah....

Aye, the chatlog was filled with Kraken-spam. I used Reverse Flourish in between, yup.

Edit: Realistically, it's only possible to do that once per minute. ^^ And K-club needs to land 3~4 hits on the post-Onslaught attack round for it to work. The process can work without the Reverse Flourish, but you'd need some great timing, and decent multi-hit luck, to pull it off. Some Haste Samba helps too.

Finished farming Skadi +1 armor today. ^^ Since the Salvage update back in December, I've been doing a combination of Original Salvage and Neo-Salvage (had never made any of the NQ gear aside from the feet) - took a little over 2 months from start to finish.

Also: Peryton can burn. That is all!

Best of luck to you BSTs! :D

Pretty interesting read! Got any bloodshed plans while you were at it? How many plans were you usually getting with Th1 pet?

Even if you're farming the Umbrage route, you'll probably see 1~2 Bloodshed plans per run if you kill the Archaic Gear NM on the 2nd floor. :)
And you could also solo all of your Bloodsheds (getting 3~6 per run depending on your luck) by using this zone.

And for anyone interested, you can do the same solo tactic in Bhaflau Remnants 2.0 (unlock Ranged/Ammo on the 1st floor Moblins) and solo all of your Tutelary/Ritualistic plans for Marduk+1/Usukane+1.

I have no idea how Salvage works, neither old or new, so I ask if I would be able to solo all the old Usu pieces alone and then upgrade through 2.0. How long would it take these days if I can?

I might be wrong, but I believe you could solo all of the NQ Usukane gear with the exception of the... Hands? I think you need to get the lvl 35 off of 5th floor Poroggo Madame in Zhayolm Remnants (which requires unlocking all pathos from at least 3 characters). Otherwise, it should technically be possible. You just have to do battle with the random number generator, haha.

And then by continuing to abuse the solo entry trick, you should be able to farm enough Ritualistic plans for +1ing all of it in about a month.

Please don't overlook the fact that BST also works well in Salvage as part of a team.

I've been doing WHM + BST (dual box) with a THF friend and it works extremely well, able to kill both bosses with ease often we have 10min remaining after defeating HQ Khimmy. Evis and Ruinator make for some awesome SCs on the Qutrub too!

Not quite, that's what I believe to be the ideal Ruinator set for most BST situations.

Mine is similar though, I don't have Huginn hands and I have a Vulcan's pearl instead of Kokou's at the moment.

Yesterday i shouted for 2 people letting me into salvage (like i´ve been doing for some time now). As usual i forgot to change sub and had to leave after 2 minutes:). I logged out to do some other stuff.

When i came back, i was almost imediatly warped to Mordior (spelling), and a GM started to explain that the development team doesn´t want people to circumvent game mechanics and enter salvage solo. He just gave me a warning, understanding that i was aware of the "circumventive" aspect, but not aware of the fact it´s strictly forbidden.

He also freely admitted that a lot of players are using the exploit and run salvage solo, thus he and his team would take actions against it,

I could write a book about how angry i am and how badly i feel treated as a paying customer (8 years w/o interruption), but i won´t since it won´t change anything.

So......as easy as farming solo in there is, apparantly it´s forbidden, so watch out!

Since the defense update, is this still viable to solo on BST or should look in trioing it?

I just gave Bhaf 2.0 a try, figuring it was worth it for the double plan drops. Going into the Moblin room (skipping the wamoura) I had weapon, sub weapon, ability, subjob, HP, and MND unlocked. Moblin hit me pretty hard, and killed me before I could take him out. His range for melee hits was between about 90 and 130, while mine fluctuated wildly between 30 and 100. Needed to use my TP for curing so only got off one Ruinator.

With that being said, I think it is possible. Maybe with defensive food and a lot of medicines (including a TP wing). Is anyone else having any luck soloing 99 areas after the defense update? I know this is bumping an older question, but I figure someone must be trying it for double plans.

Small thing, but for a solo BST attempt, eat some Rabbit Pie. Same STR/attack bonus as Red Curry Buns, but also adds 100 DEF. Since you are only partially geared for a lot of the run, that 100 DEF does wonders for your survivability. Less TP spent on waltzes and more Ruinators makes a world of difference...especially considering that with Delve axe and good gear, Ruinator frequently does over 4k.
