I went into Aby Altep for either Koios or Bugul Noz. They drop BST seals. Koios was engaged, and Bugul was being spammed by the group listed above. I don't know how many they actually did or how long they were there before me, but I saw them do about four BN's. Whenever I do any fight like this, I always /blockaid on ahead of time. If the group is chill, then that's that. Otherwise, I temporarily /blist them to avoid the distractions during the fight.

After I got the Sab.Clay, I spawned the next one.

Any BST here knows how the rest goes: They will /tell something to the effect of "Let's join you to make it faster." Then either they leave, join, or cry

I did get a /tell asking me to join them to get it going faster. I don't like to confront them so I didn't answer. I prefer to do it myself if I can. They did about 4 that I saw so I wasn't 'taking the food from their mouth'.

So, I did my first pet swap and my second Reward. That's when they knew that I could actually do this fight. You guys already know that, being BSTs. So Keevon, their BLM, pulled the cactaur NM "Emporer de Alteppa" I think is the name. He also brought about 3 treants.

He died. But I think that was his plan. He didn't call for help so dying must've been the MPK attempt. He died about 5 or 6 times. I really couldn't count them. I was so busy doing a lot at once. I GM'd them during the fight and after about 5 or 6 deaths and POSSIBLY a teammate of Keevon's death as well, I was able to finish the fight unmolested.

BST rules as I was able to:

1) conduct the fight watching pet's HP. Below 50%, I even take melee swipes on BN JUST after it does back spin.
2) kite Keevon and his NM
3) conduct a convo with the GM as it was happening right then.

My hands where so twitchy from the nerves, It was hard to hit the correct keys. They all disappeared right away. I thought they were insta jailed but no, They moved to a different Aby. As I write this, about 45 ish minutes later, I see one of their PT Nome, is now a BST (was WHM during the incident). Irony.

and last... who the **** names their char. "Yolo" anyway... /puke

Sad MPK attempt is sad; however...

If you're not after the same seals, there's never any good reason not to team up with a group that's after the same NM you're planning to solo. Faster kills and a lot more drops by way of yellow procs is an 'everybody wins' scenario.

I'm not condoning their actions after you refused to team up with them, but your refusal to even consider their offer to team up directly resulted in a lot of wasted time for everyone involved, including yourself. While they may have taken it way too far, their frustration with you was 100% justified.

1) I don't know them; lack of trust
2) I didn't know at the time but Nome their WHM was a BST after the incident. Bugul Noz drops the BLU and BST I want.
3) They had 4 kills already
4) I like soloing stuff.

Yeah, not answering them is rude. I could've just say "Sorry, I'm playing solo." or something. I just choose to avoid all contact on the off chance something like this happens. 99% of the time, they simply leave. Didn't happen this time. Keevon chased me around the fight area with the cactus.

So you made a thread about some rude soloer, and the people who tried to MPK him. Cool.

whenever I come up to a group of people doing the same nm, I will either ask them how many they are doing and ask if I could join if the seals I need is not taken. If the seals I need are taken I just move on instead of trying to fight for a spawn. No need to waste everyone's time.

Honestly you just reminded me of a situations a couple months ago. A stubborn (yes stubborn) bst just popped a nm and since he needed the ki, I offered to help proc red for him since I was on war. I asked and get no response so after he kills it, he went back to farming for pop items.

So bottom line is if you want to waste your time solo, its fine just don't waste others. The chances of people trying to **** you over +1 seals is slim to non since everyone is pretty sick and tired of doing them by now. They just want to get it over with it asap.

I usually team up w/ other groups as well, but I don't think dufflite deserves criticism for not wanting to team up w/ the other team.

Bugol Noz does NOT take a long time to kill. Groups take turns and wait on popped NM"s all the time. Or they compete for pop. All of which are better than harassing a player.

The premptive /blockaid is paranoid but the immediate blisting of other campers is just downright embarassing and petty. Try talking to your fellow FFXI players before jumping to conclusions, acting like a child and then trying to brag to that very same community about how you're the stoic victim who still managed to save the day for himself with "shaking hands".

While I think that group was in the wrong to try to MPK you (not to mention being stupid with it, sneak up and cactus isn't a problem), I have to agree with Lyltia on this one that it would've been better for everyone if you had agreed to team up. Especially since they were there first, you jumping in and taking a long time to kill isn't nice at all (if you GM'd them after first pet swap and second reward AND you called GM and talked with him during that one fight, you were taking at the very least 10-15 minutes for one pop). Most likely if you hadn't ignored them you could've come to an agreement that every other pop is "yours" and every other "theirs", and you get all the seals from "your" pops, which would also have been happening a lot more often and probably with yellow proc to boot if you had teamed up.

That something's an abbreviation doesn't mean that that is its only meaning. For starters I can think of four things Yolo could be referring to (places and non-english words).

In Abyssea, it means "You Only Live Over-and-over-and-over-and-over".
