is there any way to not have penguins invincible after 10 kills? I've killed 10 of them only to have them become invincible and just have to run away and give up after that.
Like I said in the post above yours, I can kill 55 or more easily in a night. Some of it has to do with camp location (Reef is best) and the fact that there aren't other people killing them. Also, for hate management and safety reasons, I only use my pet to fight. I wonder if that has something to do with it.
Either way, I've been killing them in the Reef for 3 nights now and have had no problems. Managing the first group of 8 is always time consuming depending on how many friends they run to. Here is what I do to try and minimize the impact of running:
I pull the first Penguin I fight to a location far away from the main group. When the Penguin's HP is getting to 30% (seems to run @25% or below) I make sure my pet has FULL TP and have Feral Howl ready. As soon as he starts running, I Feral Howl and Sic/Ready. That has two benefits. 1) Sic can usually take its HP down 10-15% 2) Feral Howl allows my slow sheep to catch up to the penguin and whack it once or twice and then the whole way back to its friends. Sometimes the penguin is dead before he reaches them. Sometimes just a sliver is left. The idea is to get the original penguin dead before your sheep dies since the links won't come back to you if you're just pet fighting. Do this a couple of times and when you're down to 5-6 Penguins left, it won't matter if the original one runs. Your sheep will stay alive.
From then on its just an easy cycle of: Penguin pops, maybe links with a 2nd, kill it, next, repeat. Its mind numbingly easy. Maybe I've just gotten lucky but my sheep has never dipped below 100dmg per hit and the last couple nights has been usually 120-190 which is plenty fast. I kill 50-60 before I have to go to bed. Good luck!
