Hiya, ive currently got a LVL 23/10 THF/MNK Mithra. I'm very interested in a BST. I also have a 4 WHM Taru. I was wondering what I Should do, make BST/WHM on the tarutaru, or just play totally on the mithra (lots of quests /etc done)
In other words how will a BST mithra do. THe main reason i want one is to solo.

Mithra BST/WHMFollow
From my understanding, mithra make the worst beastmasters of all the races. The guide says that 'Mithra are too arrogant to work well with their pets', which I have to take to mean in so many words that they have a low CHR, but I'm not going to go look it up in a stat calculator.

Mithra is not a BAD choice for BST. As the translated Japanese guides have shown. The Char hit is easily overcome by items. Mithra also gets an increased DEX - Better chance to hit and faster weapon speed.
I currently have a lvl 24 BST/RDM. I have no issues taking out toughs with decent or evens.

the official strategy guide is just a lot of BS....as far as i'm concered.....after talking with many japanese ppl who have played final for the past 2 years when i was in my rdm main dayz...they told me Galka makes good redmages...with the amazing damage, vit, ok mp..but awesome HP... ~ so my conclusion is that no matter the race and class....all races are balanced out in doing what they do....it is just the beginning advantage that u get....in the end...u'll be going after equipments and items that help u boost what ever u are low at...............keep ur style and preserverance...thats what that will really make u strong in the long run...

Anyways, to add a bit of info, I talked to three seperate 60+ JE people (All BST/WHM). They all said the EXACT same thing, although it was in japenglish though so :

You're full of BS FFXI havn't been out for 2 years yet. How did you ever manage to find japanese players who played it for over two years?
JP PS2 version of FFXI was released in spring 2002.

My BST is 38 and I can say Mithra make fine BST. In fact the racial armor seems more tailored to soloin BST then any other job. Do not get me wrong the hands and legs are $$ for mages tho.
in the case of mithra..i saw one mithra bst doing fine...I noticed her wearing the race specific equipment...i would strongly suggest this to balance it out
